"Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life ..."
~1 Timothy 6:12
---------------------------------------------------------
Devon's here, visiting for the weekend! I'm so glad, since she'll be away most of Thanksgiving break, and we wouldn't have been able to see each other much otherwise. I wish I could be better company; I'm certain I dozed off during the first Horst & Graben one-act at the performance last night, and all I could think of during the afternoon prior to the football game was how much I would have loved a siesta. But I think that we had a lovely day! Hoards of prospective students were touring campus yesterday morning, and as we played frisbee on the grass out on Young Commons (aka "the boobs"), I'm certain we got a few looks. Of course, that could have come from the fact that I was striking Matrix poses before every toss and rolling around on the grass after losing my balance more than once. My bum's still sore...
I'm not so sure what's going on today. We may go to church at 10:30 (I usually attend mass at 9:00PM, but Devon will have left by then), and I am supposed to meet with my Comm. group to collaborate on a project sometime around there, though I'm not sure my attendance is totally necessary. And I have an audition at 3:30! Ai yi yi. She Stoops to Conquer is another one of those 19th century *comedies*. I've chosen a brief monologue from School for Scandal, and have little doubt that I will be entirely successful in making myself out to be the biggest fool that ever stepped across our stage. Hrumph!
Please, if you will, keep my pastor's wife, Jan, in your prayers. She passed away sometime yesterday after a battle with cancer. It's good to know she didn't have to suffer long, but it's going to be very rough on her family. We (my church community, that is) just moved back to our old location on Monroe, and are supposed to be having a special welcome-home service and meal. I know it will be hard on everyone, but perhaps they can think of it as a memorial for Mrs. Smith, instead.
Sincerely,
Lucy
