So I think I am finally going to go back to get my teaching certification this fall. Get going on this "career" thing I keep hearing so much about. No idea where yet, just made the decision to get on with it recently.
Going to see Leatherface Tuesday in Canada Land. Never seen them, loved them long time. Excited.
Made a decision to revamp my first guitar (red Fender Strat I got when I was 13). I plan on selling the Les Paul I bought a year ago. It is by far the least comfortable guitar I have played and I don't want to deal with it anymore. My Gibson SG is and will remain my main guitar, but I need a back up. I figure if I spruce up the trusty Strat it will be good enough for a backup for Coworkers and also nice to use for other stuff. One thing I miss on the Gibsons is the tremolo system....it is like a built-in effect. I don't have the bar on my Strat but you can just pull up or down on the bridge and it works. And since that guitar is a tank, it stays in tune. Gibsons are still better for heavy rock/hardcore, but I like the necks on Fenders better. They just fit my hand better. So I figure with a Seymour Duncan Hot Rails pickup in the bridge it will hold its own. Plus a bunch of other stuff needs to be fixed.
Been writing tons of music of late. It's funny how it comes and goes. I will write nothing worthwhile for a month and then in a week I'll write like 6 songs.
