[OOC: This is another torture thread. Scroll on by if'n you don't wanna read; is an account of what happens when someone with two guardians assents to being tortured for the greater good, and by "the greater good" we mean "science and sadism".]
(
only thing that's on my mind is who gonna run this town tonight )
This year, though, now that the games were longer, more involved than the Easter ones, she had been waiting for that stinging feeling across her face, that burning in her wings.
The torture is happening in no-mans-land. Which means she's going to have to keep a lookout as she flees her way towards him. The pain intensifies, itching, scratching, clawing into her skin. It's hard to breathe. The trees around her shift slightly, appearing to fall in. No, there's plenty of space around her, and Kaden can take this pathetic imitation of pain.
She stands up straight, taking a deep breath in, and cocks her gun. Well, fuck, if she actually has to play, maybe she can take a few idiots out while she's at it. They've got to be assuming she'll run like an idiot towards Kaden, and will take her out on the way. If they think she'll be easier to torture, oh, how they'll be disappointed.
While she's not the best shot, she is good at moving stealthily. Sneaking about the house, so Ken wouldn't notice her moving into Kaden's room, was something she was always good at. She shifts from cover to cover, taking out the three scouts on the way to the bathroom.
...chloroform isn't cheating, per se.
Either way, it's a little bit before Lily shows up, but she shows up intact, untagged, and looking annoyed. She trains her gun on Mizuki's head, pushing back her need to stare at her brother's face, check his wounds. "Really, Mizuki?" she asks, raising an eyebrow. "If you want to get information out of him, it's going to take more than that."

"I was getting to it," she pouts. "You just showed up too soon." She takes the knife out, slowly.
Kaden is smiling, though he hisses softly when Mizuki removes the knife. He knows better than to try and take his hand away when there's a knife through it. "Hey, kiddo," he says.
And that's about when the dark shadow holding the flashlight, having gotten into position, hits Lily hard in the head, sending her sideways.

It's not just the pain that hurts, from the torture or the paintballs. It's that she doesn't understand. As soon as she'd felt the pain and worked out what was happening, she'd flung her gun to the ground and begun to run, chasing after its source while calling as loudly as she could to everyone else. "Stop the game! Kaden's been hurt-- you have to stop-- you have to--"
A wave of paintballs had assaulted her, almost bringing her to the ground. "What are you doing?" she'd screamed at them, through the rattle of guns and the pain flaring in her head. Some of those paintballs had been hitting her skull, and she'd found herself zoning in and out of consciousness for a while, her vision overridden with grey. "I said stop-- please-- my ward--"
But no one was listening. The burning of Kaden's reflected suffering, the nausea rising in her gut at the fear, the confusion, not being able to get to him fast enough, why were they stopping her, didn't they understand the bond?-- it had been all she'd been able to do not to throw up from it, not to pass out from it, to just keep putting one leg in front of the other. But she'd forced her last shreds of energy into staying on her feet. She couldn't give up on him. Kaden was in trouble out there, and she had to find him fast.
She's still on the verge of passing out when she finally crashes in through the door, her hands ripped up from brambles, from falling, from she doesn't even know what. She can't remember any more.
She scrambles over to Kaden, falling on hands and knees, smearing her paint all over the floor. "What's happening?" she gasps out, her voice a strangled, breathy whine. She hasn't even quite taken in that Kaden's being tortured right in front of her. Her vision might actually have gone out.

"--only get worse if you don't--ah!" Mizuki turns as Iris scrambles in. "There she is." She gives Kaden a momentary look, as if to ask if he's gotten the data he needs.
She won't get a single thing from him, however, as the instant Iris is in, Kaden's entire demeanor changes from the earlier snarky, smirky banter to that of someone who actually looks afraid and hurt. It's something he can fall into fairly easily if he needs to; he's seen it enough on other people to know what tics there are. He'd never admit to actually having felt it, but there's no coincidence that when he wants to pretend to feel that way, he remembers the worst times his father has hit him.
If they really wanted to hurt him, they wouldn't be working on him.
Nobody deigns to answer Iris's question, however. Mizuki just recoils from the girl as she tumbles past; it's Kaden's uncle, the man with the light, who reaches forward and grabs Iris's collar, hauling her backwards by her shirt. She'll get handcuffed to a sink further away, closer to Lily than Kaden.

Her vision's clearing up a little, now she's had a moment to catch her breath. It's now that she can finally get a sense of her surroundings: Kaden, looking anxious and in pain, not that she needs to look at him to know that. At least the pain part: she can't really feel the anxiety, but she's sure it's just all mixed up in her own. And Lily-- Lily? No, of course she'd be here-- cuffed a little ways away, unconscious. At least, she looks unconscious. Her head's hanging, and her eyes are closed. She hopes she's at least breathing. She can't actually tell.
This has to be some kind of nightmare. No, a hallucination. People don't just abduct and torture people during a paintball game. Not that she's ever played paintball before, but she's pretty damn sure no sane game involves torture as a component.
She may have missed out on the memo that the Fuchizakis don't play sane games.
"Kaden," she calls, though she has no idea if she'll get a response. She has no idea whether this is even real. "Kaden? Are you okay?" She draws in a sniffling breath and scrabbles her shoes against the floor, as if she can push herself further towards him. In reality, the handcuffs won't let her move any closer, but the part of her brain that's screaming Do something! Do something! hasn't quite registered that. "I'll help you, Kaden, I'll help you, just let me...." Let me get out of these cuffs, as if it were as simple as that.
She whimpers in frustration, and yells out the only thing she can think of left to say, in case maybe it'll make the universe change its mind.
"This is stupid! This is really, really stupid!"
