KITTEN WATCH

She's just lying there, full of ( Read more... )

Oh why not? Just a little squeeze to help it along? No?

...Fine. What do you suggest.

A pregnant cat doesn't work like a tube of toothpaste.

I'd suggest waiting and leaving her alone. Most animals are able to go through that process without help.

I knew that! I knew - I was kidding, all right? It was a joke! Pfft, no sense of humour, you.

She's lying there like a bloody slug. I can't... perk her up or anything?

Not the best joke, all things considered.

Perk her up? She's about to give birth, so I doubt perking up is on the list of things she needs right now.

Then what does she need?! She should be doing something, right?

She'll do something when she starts having the kittens. Until then, let her rest.

Fine. I'll... I'll set an alarm up. Then I can go somewhere, and when she has them, I'll come back.

Where are you planning on taking us and how long, relatively, will we be gone?

'Us'? 'We'? I had no idea you'd accept.

River wanted to go to Pakha. Nice enough planet, center of tourism, metre-high hamster people...

I've learned to pick my battles.

Hamster people? I suppose it's better than dinosaurs.

Is that right~

Yes, well. Not my first choice, certainly, but River has her heart set at this point. Personally I find them no end of annoying. The planet's nice though, very modern, lots of shops.

It should be fine, then, as long as it's a short trip.
