Yesterday afternoon, my immediate supervisor and I met with the client I most want to keep happy, to tell him about my impeding relocation. This man has worked overseas in many locations for different consulting firms, so he had absolutely no problem about me working from elsewhere. He was worried about me attending a particular meeting and another presentation, but M (the higher up) volunteered that the company would fly me back for both events at no cost to the client. *mentally swooned* How cool is that?!?

So I can use my frequent flier miles to get over there, then have the company pay for me to come back for the meeting (and I can conveniently stop at the east coast beach on the way back for a week with my bros and sis, cousins, aunts, children, etc - a total of 54 people). I'm happy! if it works out the way it ought to,,,,

Anyway, the positive results nicely balanced out the 2 entire hours it took to drive southbound on a Friday afternoon when the sun was beating down and the temp was in the 80s. Sheesh! How can people do this every day? Coming back was easier: northbound traffic is always less in the afternoon.

Anyway, it looks as though I'll have an average of 20 hours of work/week through the end of the year, to be paid at the same exorbitant hourly rate I make now, while I live in Europe with K at someone else's expense. Perfect!

*knocks on wood so I don't jinx it by being jubilant*
