Day 01 - Your favourite episode
I really enjoyed all of them, but it has to be A Study in Pink for the new, fresh thrill. It was all new to me, as I'd never read A Study in Scarlet, so I didn't know anything. Of course I knew the basics, but not the details.
The first scene shocked me, and I was immediately sorry for John. His confession, 'nothing happens to me', and his look of absolute defeat was so heartfelt and covered in despair it made my eyes prickle.
Then the rest of it: London, the breathless chase, Mycroft , the humour, Mrs. Hudson, Lestrade, the Britishness of it all. I remember very clearly, stopping at 11'14" and going over to FB and Twitter to flip out.
It brought me back to my childhood and all my imaginary adventures. All that running! The flat, with the wallpaper and all those books and the chairs and the skull and the feeling, so new and yet so old, I could almost smell the living room from the intensity of the scenes. I'm so glad I decided to watch it.
