Spatzle, Steins and Random Shit

Well I'm back from Germany. Had a brilliant time.

I've been on tour with Uni windband in Stuttgart, in an area just by Weillingdorf (worrying about spelling later). It wasn't so much music orientated as expected but that was alright as there was so much to do.

The whole thing started with a reception and concert at the town hall on the Tuesday morning. They had the coolest lift there. It was basically like numerous wardrobes were plonked on top of each other and were constantly going round and round on a conveyer belt. I could have happily stayed on that lift all day. In the evening, we all went to an awesome beer festival. It was about 7euros for a litre of beer. I ended up having about 3 of them, nicking one of the steins for a mate and rounded off the night by singing Monty Python song completely off key. Happy Days.

We ended the tour by colaborating with Stuttgart town band and joined them for a meal at their favourite restaurant. Despite not knowing much German, I was able to order something I actually liked. Also, after years of wondering, I found out what spatzle was. The fact that it was served as shredded pancake batter really made it grow on me.

Ah well, time for sleep.
Auf wiedersehen.
