Personality: Lyserg's life was forever changed when his parents refused to join Hao Asakura in the Shaman tornament, eight years before the start of the series. Believing them better dead then against him, Hao murdered the Diethel's and set fire to their family home. Tramuatized by this atrocity, Lyserg was never able to let go and swore revenge. His entire life, up until meeting Yoh and his friends, revolved around not only becoming strong himself, but by finding partners stronger than he was to defeat Hao with. Lyserg does not have much confidence, but he tends to put his whole heart into everything he does as long as someone believes in him.
It's clear from this attitude, and how he interacts with Yoh and the others upon joining them, that he has never had many friends. He feels he always has to side with the strongest to carry out revenge for the murder of his family, and because of this, challenged every Shaman he met to a battle. Unfortunately, if they lost to him, he would simply walk away. If they beat him, he would beg to accompany them so that he too could become stronger. This attitude has, at least, somewhat changed when he meets Yoh and his group, who introduce him to mercy and genuine kindness. Traits which he soon adopts and cannot shake off even after he joins the X-Laws. Even if he looks prepared to go to any lengths to complete the mission, it's clear that he does indeed doubt if it's right - something which his spirit, Morphine, picks up on.
Despite his actions, Lyserg actually has a very kind heart - he enjoys helping out people and being with friends, but he's overcome with the need to destroy Hao. That kind demeanor snaps at the mere mention of his parent's murderer, and he flies into a rage which is sometimes very hard to quell. He wants to believe that what matters is the ends, not the means, but Yoh's good nature has made it hard for him to put all his faith into doing whatever it takes to get the job done, regardless of who he hurts.
Another thing to note is that although somewhat shy and soft spoken, Lyserg is a rather blunt. Upon meeting the group, he rattles off serveral reasons why he should join them (strength, intelligence, ect) and when Ryu questions his gender, he pulls his pants down to confirm that he is, in fact, male. Judging from his chosen career path - a detective/dowser - it has been said that he's the most intelligent and/or cleverist of the group, and pays attention to detail.
What your character can offer: Lyserg can see spirits, communicate with them, and use them to fight. He's a dowser, which means that he is capable of locating missing people, objects, or locations using a crystal. This is not yet one hundred percent accurate, but will grow stronger with use. He's a very intelligent young man who wishes to become a dectective one day.
What items will they be bringing with them? His clothes (x-Law's uniform), Crystal Pendulum, his spirit Morphine
