Silvery Effect Tutorial

01. Sharpen a bit to make the effect more visible.
02. Duplicate layer. (psp: layers->duplicate, ps: layer->duplicate layer)


03. Add curves (psp: colors->adjust->curves, ps:image->adjustments->curves):

Channel: RGB
  • Input 0, Output 0
  • Input 20, Output 189
  • Input 63, Output 55
  • Input 111, Output 203
  • Input 144, Output 29
  • Input 185, Output 206
  • Input 222, Output 45
  • Input 255, Output 255

04. Change curves layer blend mode to soft light


05. Create new layer (psp: Layers->New raster layer, ps: layer->new->layer), layer blend mode saturation.
06. Add white (or some greyscale color) to new layer.


07. Crop


And we're done!

If you use PS' crop to 100px 100px and use bigger area than 100x100, you might want to add one extra sharpen in the end.
