Meeting Seth Green!
So for those of you who don't know, Seth Green is my all time favorite entertainer in the world. I have loved him since I was 11 or 12 and first saw him on Buffy as Oz. I finally got the opportunity to meet him at Wizard World, which is a comic book convention. He was there promoting Robot Chicken and his comic Freshmen. I bought tickets a while ago, and have been counting down the days.
I wore a "Stoopid Monkey" t-shirt, which is Seth Green's production company that does Robot Chicken.
The first panel he was in was Robot Chicken. The room was full of people. I sat on the far right. I saw Seth Green walk in and just went nuts. He was so close. Seth and a few other Robot Chicken people talked about the show, and even showed us some scenes from the next season - which were really funny. They did a Q&A too. I raised my hand every single time, but never got called on. I was a little upset, I just wanted Seth to call on me or even make eye contact.
The panel was over and Seth was just standing up at the front not moving. I ran up there to see if I could snap a picture. As I got up to the front a guy asked for "10 ladies to take a Stoopid Monkey survey." I jumped up and said "ME! I have a Stoopid Monkey T-Shirt." At this comment Seth turns and looks at me. He notices my shirt and POINTS AT ME and says "HEY! That's awesome!!" I smile and wave. I walk up to him and tell him that I've been a fan of his for 10 years and I loved him so much. He shook my hand and said he really appreciated it. Then he said I should come to his Freshman signing later. I WAS PERSONALLY INVITED BY SETH GREEN TO HIS SIGNING. It was amazing. After he left, I was just in such shock and happiness. That was worth coming to the thing right there.
The next panel he was in was the one for TOP COW, which was promoting FRESHMEN. I got there early enough, so I was in the third row, directly in front of Seth. He totally recognized me from the last panel and was making faces at me the whole time. I reached for my camera and realized it wasn't there! I left it in the other panel!! CRAP! I didn't want to leave because Seth Green was making faces at me, but I didn't want to lose my camera. I stayed until it was over. Also during the panel, one of the writers asked if there were any aspiring writers in the audience. My hand shot up and Seth Green looked at me and nodded with approval. That made me happy. When that panel ended, I wanted to chum it out with Seth again, but I had to leave to find my camera. The signing was next and I definitely wanted a pic of me and Seth together.
I ran and ran and ran to the room where I left my camera. Thankfully it was still underneath the chair where I had left it. Phew.
I went to get in line for the signing. I waited about an hour before the line started moving. By this time it was almost like meeting Seth Green was old news. But when I saw him again the excitement just all came back. I was giddy. When I was second in line, Seth noticed me and gave me the wink and the gun. He recognized me again!! When I got up there, he gave me over a minute of his time. He asked me for my name, so he could sign it on the picture. When he said my name out loud, I just died. We chatted, and I told him I loved him as Oz on Buffy. He said thanks, then asked me if I "was coming on Thursday." I wasn't sure what he was talking about, but then he mentioned there was this Buffy reunion thing, and I told him I wasn't able to get tickets to it. He said that was too bad. I asked him for a picture, and he came around from the signing table - to the front. He put his arm around me and went CHEEK TO CHEEK with me, then Alex took a picture of us. I thanked him so much and he slid his arm down from my shoulder to my hand. I got goosebumps.
I was floating on clouds the rest of the day. It was amazing. The only thing that could have made the night better would be if Seth had invited me back to his hotel room. But alas that did not happen. Oh well. :)
