Those scans kinda gave me chills - so gritty that I am suddenly terrified.

Yeah, that was my reaction too. We had some hints in the leaked teaser, but the poor quality didn't prepare us for these. But better gritty and realistic than laughable.

I am doing this massive yo-yo thing when it comes to series 2.

I just hope he doesn't die. That quote of Sybil's from the second new article about how it seemed all the men she had danced with had died... Evelyn is just the kind of "minor character whose demise isn't important but will tug at the heart strings" who could be killed off in an aside to show the horrors of war. :S I hope not.

He needs more fic. I mean, come on, he reads Trollope!
