Today's news round-up:
*
Another review with some interesting observations on Thomas' storyline in S2. Nothing particularly revealing if you've kept up with the press, but the reporter's own impressions of the 1st episode may be of interest.
*
ITV Anglia has a report on the filming in Ipswich. Nothing new here either, except for a still of Matthew, but that's about it.
* This looks like PBS' ad for the Emmys (from
Dan Stevens' fb):
*
Cast portraits by the Retna agency while Michelle, Dan and Elizabeth were in LA, and these are some of my favorites:
* And last but not least, some final words on the TCA tour from

Summer 2011 TCA Press Tour Highlights and Lowlights
Lowlight: 'Downton Abbey' won't return until January. Boo...
In addition to the dozens of full pilots we (critics, not The Royal We in this cast) watched before and during press tour, we also saw clips from dozens more shows and specials that aren't quite finished yet.
We laughed frequently at clips from MTV's return of "Beavis and Butt-head."
We sat in respectful silence for clips from several 9/11 tribute films.
But the clips that got the most rousing response, at least from what I could tell, were the teasing moments from the second season of "Downton Abbey."
Those clips were followed by one of the most engaged and engaging panels of the tour, featuring several stars and producers from the acclaimed and Emmy nominated British series.
Unfortunately, we won't get to see actual new episodes of "Downton Abbey" -- at least not legally -- until January.
That just makes me sad.
