This is just wonderful. That sketched dystopia, with just enough spelled out we can understand their situation, but little enough we're disoriented and scared for them in this unknown world. And their relationship through Jared's eyes is unbalancing too, till we get those deep declarations. You paint a Jensen who wouldn't say 'I love you' without meaning it, and even then not without a damn good reason. So maybe they're not 'natural', with enhancements and Program and whatever, but underneath, there's something very real.

Great stuff! I hope you get bitten by the J2 writing bug now.

You know I *adored* this! I think this is one of those rare stories that works so well by just being a snippet at first roll out. You've walked a masterful line of not dulling the story with lots of exposition, instead leaving the back story to the readers' imagination, and yet the reader never falters with an unmet need-to-know. It made my reading experience all tingly to feel like there's this 'verse out there that's still a secret. Past and future that maybe you know, and maybe you'll share one day?

(There is the 2014 spn_j2_bigbang, you know. Wouldn't it be fun to get art for this world?)

Wow, wow, wow. What a cool universe. I love how this is still recognizably Jared and Jensen, but yet completely different versions too. Love the little bits of backstory and explanation, love the hints of so much more going on. I want to know MORE, and that's a cool feeling.

This was gorgeous. Such a nice job of painting in the basic strokes of this strange new world while leaving a lot of it for us to figure out ourselves. I got such a strong sense of the journey it's taken these two to get here from only a few snippets of their past.

Welcome to the club!

Wow, that was just great. I love how we got glimpses of their broken world without the whole big story, and how important and significant those glimpses were. The relationship is so beautifully sketched out in just a few strokes, but fills up everything. Lovely!
