The Irish in Us

So I watched the jamescagney Movie of the Month The Irish in Us--backwards--on YouTube. Now I've first seen this movie a couple months ago and I thought it was pretty good. But I wouldn't necessarily call it one of my favorite James Cagney movies. Anyway, one of my favorite scenes from the movie is the scene near the end of the movie where Frank McHugh and Allen Jenkins get drunk from a bottle of gin just before the big fight. It was very amusing!!! And Olivia deHavilland is my second favorite of James Cagney's female co-stars after Joan Blondell. They seemed to have great chemistry in this film. Of course, I first saw deHavilland in one of her famous roles as Melanie in Gone with the Wind when I was 7 or 8 but I don't really remember seeing the whole movie, as it was so long ago.

In an unrelated topic, it's very scary how tomorrow is New Year's Eve and that pretty soon we'll be saying good-bye to 2009 and hello to 2010. I'm sorry but this year has gone by too fast!!!
