Wes drove. I half expected him to stop every time we past a gang of vamps snacking on their latest appetizer, but he didn't. This definitely was not the Wes I knew. That Wes would have tried to save every last one of them even if he got himself killed in the process. I couldn't believe how many we saw. Shouldn't these people be in doors, locked

There, I didn't hate my father, not even close. There, I didn't fall in love with a beautiful woman, impregnate her, only to have her want me doing things for her right before my child was born. There, I wasn't turned away from the woman that I loved after she delivered and somehow lost my baby..our baby.
There...there were a lot of evil demons, but there wasn't Angelus and there wasn't the beast. I wanted and had to kill the Beast. He was somehow linked to me, even if Cordy tried to tell me that he wasn't. She was just lying to me and using me like she always had. That sucked too.
I spun and kicked a vamp and staked another, pulling the stake out quick and turning again. There were so many of them.
I had to kill Angelus, too. This time, kill him...not bury him in the ocean.
I'm thinking all of these thoughts, which is fueling me, when all of a sudden, a really hot chick come s up and throwing down with me, helping me.
"Angel's kid, right? I'm Faith."
Faith, I had never heard the name before, but two things were for sure.
She was a show off and she wasn't human.
"What are you, are you another vampire with a soul or something?" I asked, before tossing a vamp to the ground, where Wesley then shot him in the head.

She took the lead from him, showed more speed and power then he had, and the speed aspect was truly impressive, because Connor's speed was his biggest asset...well...outside of his rage at the moment.
This could work out, if Connor would play nice with us. After shooting the last vampire in the head, Faith staked him, and there was silence around us for the moment.
"What are you, are you another vampire with a soul or something?"
I laughed at Connor's ignorance. He had heard of vampire slayers and with my current state of mind, I didn't exactly contain the potential for showing restraint, even if it were that I could understand why he would think that she was a vampire with a soul.
I decided to let her tell him what she was. I had another qustion to ask him, because keeping all of our friends alive, at the moment, was suddenly the crux of the day.
"Connor, where is Cordelia, and how did you leave her? She was about to burst, and we should have waited for the delivery, but we were too immersed in stopping the beast. Did she deliver, and how is she, and more importantly, why have you left her alone in the insanity?"

I laughed and looked at Wes, "Is this kid for real?"
There was no way Angel hadn't filled the the fruit of him loins in on little ol' me, was there? I mean, ok, so I wasn't exactly numero uno on Angel's list of slayers but I was at least worth an honorable mention. Slayer, atoning for her sins, walking that sharp and painful path to redemption. Damn man, what's a girl gotta do to get some recognition around here.
"Vampire slayer. All chosen and stuff. It's a chick thing."
"Connor, where is Cordelia, and how did you leave her? She was about to burst, and we should have waited for the delivery, but we were too immersed in stopping the beast. Did she deliver, and how is she, and more importantly, why have you left her alone in the insanity?"
Way to steal my chosen thunder there Wes I thought, and do you think we can stop with these little surprises already?
"Cor...all bloated and motherly?" I chuckled. "This I gotta see."

Wesley laughed at me and filled me with more rage.
"Vampire slayer, hah? Let me guess, you are really close with my father too then?"
I sneered at her. She was another dumb girl following my father. Even Cordy was like that, and probably would go back to him.

"Yeah, well there's nothing to see. She had the baby and it disappeared right in front of us. Cordy screamed at me to get out and then she was unconscious. She's safe. Trust me, she's safe, but she was acting worse then Angelus would, ordering me to kill some girl to help her have the birth, then when I wouldn't do it, she did it herself, and what was the point? The baby died, or disappeared, or something. The baby is gone..."
I put my head down. This place sucked. I just wanted to fight and kill Angel and kill everything.

Instantly, I felt Connor's hostility towards Faith and as much as my mind had drifted towards a place where I didn't care about sides or solidarity, I knew that we needed to stick together.
But, the problem was essentially simple. Connor felt betrayed by everyone, similar to the way that I had, except that he had lost a child as well. Connor had allowed Cordy, who unbeknownst to us, at the time, had been doing evil bidding, to control his emotions. She had been possessed in some manner and used sex to control Connor. Connor was inexperienced in that way but powerful, and an easy target for her, though Cordelia, if flaunting her sexuality, I dare say would have made many a men her willing slave.
"We have to get to Cordelia. We musn't waste any time in this. If she is unconscious and has already delivered, then it's quite possible that she will be better now. But, alone in this city, especially unconscious, is nowhere to be..."
I didn't know if Connor would go, but one way or the other, he was coming. Faith could handle him and seeing Fred dead would make him want to help.
It was my turn to put my head down at the mere mention of Fred being dead. I relaized also, that Faith was getting hammered with an inordinate amount of shocking information at once, but I knew that she was thick-skinned enough to handle it. She had proved that to me.
"Let's go. Cordy's existence might very well depend on our being prompt right now."
Then there was the matter of the baby disappearing. He was there. How could he not know what had transpired with his child? It had to be an evil child, conceived in less then three months.
One thing at a time.

Wes suggested...noooo...insisted we get to Cor with the whole time is an issue thing. I didn't doubt it, but it was amusing to see how much of the nerd you could take out of the man but how much dweeb still lay beneath. Don't get me wrong man, Wes was a champ in my book. Took one hell of a beating, (well you know not so much a beating as a lengthy torture session but who's keepin' tabs), off yours truly and yet here he is, askin' for my help. Well, without the asking bit.
"Let's go. Cordy's existence might very well depend on our being prompt right now."
Findin' Cordy it is. As for her Houdini baby..can't say I was really lookin' forward to meetin' that little bundle of bouncing baby hell spawn. Come on, how many kids disappear leavin' mommy and daddy behind wonderin' what the shit just went down here? None was my guess.
"Yeah, let's get to steppin'." I said as I headed back toward the car.
