OB and I are looking for the ideal place to nest for awhile...

The house we thought we had fell through, as the landlord had a friend who wanted to move into it at the last minute... Hmph. We're renting, week to week, this adorable little casita along a major road in Tucson, which is lined with motels. Ahem. I, like the dork that I am, decided to take a walk, at the height of the heat trip - around noon, to the local Circle K about a mile away.

It was so hot I thought I was going to pass out on the way back...but that's not the point of this post. Now, I'm street smart enough, and had noticed the rows of motels around our place. I noted that it may be a big hooker hang out for out of town business men. My darling husband speculated that it was just a hang out for out of town business men. :)

So I'm walking to the Circle K...It's REALLY HOT here in Tucson. I was wearing a tank top and jeans...nothing too provocative, but a little hootchie, by normal weather standards, I guess. Okay, it was hootchie. Little tank (but it was a standard issue ARMY tank), no bra - It's seriously way too hot here to wear normal clothing. You'll literally sweat to death. Several men pulled up in cars, over to the curb, and signaled to me like I was supposed to go over to them. This one guy on a motorcycle kept circling around and cutting me off, and though he wouldn't really speak to me, his psycho eyes said all that needed to be said.

This couple who tried to pick me up on the curb and then cut me off at the gas station were a trip. The girl was cute...actually, I'm pretty sure I've worked with her before at a club. Judge what thou wilt. The guy that was her whatever was driving the SUV, and said..."Hey, Miha, get in, what are you, scared?" I said "No, man, I'm just hot, and married - I don't do meth and I'm trying to get back to my room without throwing up...how do you guys LIVE HERE!!??"

Apparently, my initial instincts were correct. It is prostitution row, only the the prostitutes are smart enough to be waiting around in the air conditioned motel rooms, I suppose, and not walking around the streets in inhumane heat. So how was your day?
