[Background] Professor Layton Wiki!

[Personality] Clive is, first and foremost, a highly brilliant individual that appears to have an endless supply of cleverness and wit at hand to use at anytime. Though he would essentially be considered the 'true villain' of Unwound Future, you have to take into account that he truly is the antagonist of the protagonist's antagonist...as confusing as that may be. He manipulated Dr. Stahngun (and also every single other person within the story) and somehow was able to construct a massive and destructive mobile fortress right under his nose without anyone growing even the slightest bit suspicious. He managed to trick both the greatest scientific mind in London and the celebrated puzzle-loving gentleman without either man even suspecting a single thing until very late into his plot. Now that is a true genius.

With intellect, cunning, patience, caring, and a gentleman's affable nature, no one was able to see even the hint of what was under the young man's ~sparkling~ surface: a slow boiling pot of insanity. For as logical as he may seem to be, Clive possesses more than just a dash of crazy in his bright mind. To avenge the deaths of his parents and the complete mutilation of his childhood, he vows to destroy not only the scientists and politicians who made it all possible, but all of London. He wants to kill everyone just so that the city can be built anew and pure; an act of justice, he says, not revenge.

To call him evil may not sound inaccurate, but would really be very misinformed conclusion to come to. Clive is not evil, not in the sense that he is doing all this for his own good or potential gain. No, he is simply a young boy crying out against the world for how broken his life turned out to be. He's a tragic villain, one who wants to be stopped so that his life can finally be put onto the right track after all these years.

Under all of that crazy brilliance, Clive really is a caring individual. For the people he truly loves (NO SCIENTISTS OR POLITICIANS EVER PLEASE), he would honestly do anything and has absolutely no problem with going to very insane extremes for them.

He is also, like most characters in the series, crazy for puzzles of all shapes and size. That is one part of his personality that is most certainly not an act when pretending to be Luke.

[Specialties/Abilities] As far as supernatural abilities, Clive has none. As an average (albeit insane), human being, the only abilities that he has in his possession are his amazing intellect, his skill at manipulation, and his superior talent of lying perfectly through his teeth.

[Affection] You can try anything you like, but realize that Clive is attempting to be as gentlemanly as possible and will not allow certain advances to be made.

[Fighting] You can try anything you like, but Clive is not a fighter.

[Other Permissions] Talk with me first!

[Other Facts] Clive, under the impression of not wanting to ruin the plan he has worked so hard for should Layton and co ever arrive in Somarium, would continue going under the name of Luke Triton, which is what his Dreamberry contact info would say. Which will make it awkward if the real Luke ever arrives.
