He told the old man to get back to the infirmary and promised that he'd bring her there-safe.

[It takes him longer then ten. He was breathing heavily and his head was pounding. This was good. This was what won him awards (his blood splattered award that he'd used to beat the head in of the ghostly monster.)
The corridor looked relatively bare, but he kept his hands out until he saw the closet.]

He manages to smile weakly.]
..Everything's all fucked to hell but you're going to be okay.
[He smiles]

[ She eyes his hands. ] You did that to them?

[Hoffman looks her in the eye] Do you have a problem with that?
[He casts an anxious look over his shoulder before turning back to her] we should get ready to go.

[ She walked right past a pack on her way down here. He'll think it's suspicious if they see him and leave her alone. It has to be now. So she looks down as she closes the distance and wraps one arm around his neck, breathing heavily as her head bows into his chest. ] Thank you.
[ He's taller than she expected, so she has to wait until she's recovered herself and has let go before she can reach into her sleeve and drive the knife into the closest spot on his body. With him, she only has one chance, and it has to count. ]

Hoffman held her for a moment-stunned. He lets her go quickly-flushed.]

And this isn't fair, she realizes, frozen. He thought she might be dying, eaten up by those things, and could have gotten eaten himself. But she knows he might want to kill her, and he thinks he saved her.
It's too much like him. She can't finish it, and she looks at him pleading for him to forgive her instead of killing her. ]

[He sounds almost annoyed. Surprised and annoyed. He puts a hand to his stomach and it comes away red.]

[It's probably the stress that's contributing to it, but he wavers-nearly falling back.]
