*from paper journal*
I’m so tired and it’s because I went out last night (03/24) to the Living Room. Here was the line-up:
7:30 PM: Sarah Lentz: She was alright for vocals, pretty good for piano, but the guitarist was great.
8:15 PM: JenEd, spoken poet: She seemed to be influenced by Ani Difranco, speaking of politics, race, feminism, etc.
8:45 PM: Angela Jimenz, Natalia Zuckerman, and Nadine Goellner: These ladies are who I came for. Nadine performed two of her new songs, “Think About You” and “So What.”
Around this time a couple asked to sit by me-they were probably in their 40s-nice people. Tuey Connell is the name of the guy and I found out that he plays in a jazz band with the same name, so I’ll have to check him out.
9:30/9:45 PM: Sam Shaber: She had the same guitarist as Sarah Lentz-I think it was actually Sam’s but on loan or something. Sam was so into her music, her performing, and her interacting with the audience was pretty awesome, so on that level, I enjoyed her. However, as strictly someone to buy, I just couldn’t see it. I felt bad enough for not picking up any of Natalia’s CDs yet, but I promised her I would at Nadine’s CD release party in June.
10:45 PM: Rachael Sage: She is someone I’d actually heard about from mp3.com from plugging “similar artists to Tori” and on the @forumz. Rachael was cute and sounded awesome with her band-cello, drums, and a trumpet. I wish I could’ve stayed longer or at least finished watching her set, but it was 11:30 or so, so I thought I should leave because of work the next day.
Also earlier that night, I bought two scores, both Charlie Kaufman flicks and scored by Carter Burwell: Being John Malkovich and Adaptation.
Hmm, so it’s a shame that Jason and I can’t be friends. He’s a nice guy and really deserves the best out of life-I don’t wish otherwise for anyone. I just wish he had called me back so that would be some sort of peaceful resolution if we didn’t think we could be friends anymore. Instead, I hear nothing and that’s his choice. Well, c’est la vie! La vie est trop court d’être m’inquietée.
This weekend, Rich and I will be hanging out with Jessica to see Jersey Girl and to hang out with her and Paul in B’lyn. It’ll be fun.
Must. Get. Sleep.
