ltlredhairdgirl and why_me_why_not have proclaimed this weekend to be picspam weekend! Yays!
So my picspam (with songs, handpicked with reasons why) will be on...
In no particular order. Images courtesy of my own archive and from google image search.
1. Madonna - I Want You. I can't stop listening to this one lately. There are many versions of this song out there, but Madonna puts the angst in it. I mean, you just hear her soul pining for this other person so much it hurts.
2. John Mayer - 83. It's a simple acoustic song, but I love the nostalgic aspects of this. There's just something timeless about it.
3. Imogen Heap - I Am In Love With You. Like Madonna's, this is one that's been in my constant rotation lately. Right now, another, please, just like that. There's a definite sensuality, but also a denial about wanting it...
4. OK Go - You're So Damn Hot. It's just good rockin' fun by my fave boys based in Chi-town!
5. Ani Difranco - Anticipate. This is the first song I ever heard by Ani and the acoustic guitar intrigued me in a way that I had never heard before. I wasn't sure how I felt about her vocals, but in the end... I realized they worked great for her and her style.
6. Snow Patrol - Gleaming Auction. From their Final Straw album, the place it starts and its climax vary so much, but that's what intrigues me.
7. Moby - Go. I mostly picked this song to match the image below. A nice percussion-driven song... and while it sounds kinda repetitive, seeing this live and being part of the audience is just exhilarating.
8. Ben Folds Five - Best Imitation of Myself. Okay, so the image is just Ben Folds, but whatever. Good times.
9. The Weepies - Somebody Loved (m4a format). One of the most romantic songs I've ever heard. BTW, I believe this image was taken at the last show I saw The Weepies play.
10. Sirsy - Please Let Me Be. This is a live version of their song. I'm amazed to listen to this and know that it's just Melanie and Rich. Their opening to this song just rocks my world. Mel's vocals in this are good, but I'm pimping this mostly cuz Rich and the guitar are just HOT!
