So, I'm a dork. A big dork. I've only ever been to four real rock concerts in my entire life (Santana, Wyclef Jean, Guster, and the Bravery), since I don't count classical, choral, or Harry and the Potters (but they're sogoodzomg). I've never bought tickets.

Ditto all of the above, plus you can always check Pollstar, which lets you search by city, artist or date. It's pretty handy when it hits summertime and I am all 'there has GOT to be a concert SOMEWHERE IN THIS DAMN CITY that I want to go see.'

Also, MySpace isn't bad for that, if you have one.

It is. It's terrible. But it's useful for keeping track of what bands and artists are doing, especially when they're indie artists that get less airplay than others. Like, for example, I get MySpace updates from Citizen Cope all the time about free shows and stuff. It's honestly about the only thing MySpace is good for.

*sigh* Mags, why are you ALWAYS RIGHT???? RAH.

I loathe MySpace, but you just proved to me its worth. DAMMIT. Now I can't dismiss it out-of-hand the way I'd prefer.

Nah. You just keep one and don't use it for anything but that. I use it because I'm lazy and I write a suburban entertainment column for Phillyist.com, so it's easy for me to get updates from coffeehouses and crap that way.
