So. About that phone call? From Tufts?? She called me back yesterday. And they're proceeding with my candidacy for the position. Holly from HR is checking my references, then we'll discuss an offer, and if we agree, I'll have a job.
*lets that sink in*
I'm about to be hired by Tufts University. I'll have an office, and co-workers (who I like, so far), a salary, and benefits. Health, dental, TUITION REIMBURSMENT (helloooooo Masters degree). And a free gym membership. It's not signed and sealed yet, but if things go well... *knocks on wood* ...I'll have a job.
This has taken me SO little time. It's awesome. I started considering the job search in January-ish, then took a break until about April, when family friends started thrusting job applications upon me, and then didn't really get serious about it until June.
SO. I'm still trying not to get my hopes up, but I probably have a job. Just fyi.
The one crappy thing? I only *just* started working for Fran. And it's a great job. I can keep working with her on the side, I'll just have a LOT less time to do that. Funny thing-- I'd probably make MUCH more money working for Fran full-time than I would at Tufts. Except for the whole benefits thing (whoops). But maybe I can use that to my advantage, maybe help me with negotiating a salary? I'm hoping so.
ALSO: Mom said that when I get a "real" job, she'd buy me a Coach bag. Any advice on which one to pick?? :-D
ALSO ALSO: GO JUMBOS!!!! *g*
