taking back the hat

A look to the side, and Shishido can see him peripherally. The first thing he notices is the hair. He's always thought Saeki had the weirdest hair ever for a guy. He still does. Shishido fiddles with his cap absently, missing his own hair. He kinda likes the new style, though, but he won't be lame enough to admit it to anyone. His thoughts wander back to Saeki, then, and he notices arms next. He's never really noticed Saeki's arms before-- but now, as they're walking side by side, he finds he is reluctantly entranced by the way each muscle flexes with each sway of the arm. He feels that tingly feeling you get when someone is watching you and looks up, suddenly realizing he was no longer glancing peripherally at Saeki, but had actually been fully viewing him for a quite a while. Saeki is watching him, intently. He blushes, damn his lame cheeks, and looks away quickly.
"Shishido."
Shishido makes sure to stay peripheral this time and raises his eyebrows in response, with a small grunt for good measure. Saeki smirks, and Shishido ponders punching the lameass. He settles for glaring instead. "What?" he growls.
Saeki shakes his head. "You were staring, Shishido. For a long time." The smug tone in his voice matches the lips still curved in a smirk, and Shishido ignores the voice in the back of his head (which is being SUPER LAME right now) telling him he should kiss it away.
"You're being super lame, right now," Shishido replies, and firmly denies to himself that he is half saying that to said voice in brain. Then realizes he is arguing with himself and stops. "I wasn't staring. I was just...looking."
Saeki raises a brow, and Shishido wonders just how stupid he sounded. "Shishido, staring and looking are the same things," he says with an amused chuckle.
Shishido glares at him, feeling his cheeks heat up again. "So? I just meant that I wasn't staring at you because I think you're hot or anything."
Saeki stops, his eyes going slightly wide and his mouth forming a small 'o'. "I didn't say anything about that," he says after a small pause, a gleam flashing in his eyes.
Shishido hopes he was imagining that gleam. He tries to shrug off his statement, failing miserably. "Well, I um-- JUST SHUT UP ALREADY," he stutters, shaking his head. "I just thought that was what you meant, ok?"
Saeki smiles widely. "Oh, that's what I meant, Shishido, I just never said anything about it. You brought it up," he says, his damn, lame, stupid, smirk returning. Then, quick as lightening, and that's pretty quick for Shishido, he lunges and Shishido watches dumbfounded, as he twirls The Hat in his hand.
"HEY!" he yells once he has recovered from the shock of someone moving THAT FAST, "Give that back, asshole!" He feels naked without it, and it's not the best feeling in the world. Not to mention, he is pretty sure that's called flirting. And the voice in his head is back, telling him he likes it. "Shut up."
Saeki frowns, and Shishido mentally slaps himself and his stupid voice-- both of them. "I didn't say anything, Shishido. And no, I'm not giving it back. I think I'll wear it, and take it home with me," he says, smiling easily.
Shishido growls. He is not going to lose The Hat. "No," he says, "You are NOT taking it. I'll fight you." And like it, his voice adds. He ignores it and glares some more, because glaring is always good when being mad at someone. It doesn't affect Saeki one bit. He still grins, eyes twinkling, teeth white and perfectly straight against his kissable lips-- Shishido blinks and shakes his head, causing Saeki to smack his palm against Shishido's forehead, concern written across his features. "Are you alright? You're acting weird."
Shishido bats his hand away, rubbing his forehead. That had hurt. "Geez, you think you hit hard enough, asshole?" He stops and his fingers twitch as Saeki simply smiles and twirls The Hat around some more. "I'm fine, now give me the hat, or I'll punch you and get it back anyway."
Saeki shrugs, placing The Hat on his head-- and Shishido does not think of how good Saeki looks in his hat, he really doesn't-- and spreads his arms invitingly. "Alright. Come and get it then," he challenges, eyes flashing mischievously.
Shishido swallows because his voice is telling him that flashing eyes are very sexy, and covers it with a scowl. "I will." And he does. He leaps at Saeki, hands set to grab The Hat off the bastard's head. Surprisingly, Saeki doesn't do a damn thing, and Shishido ends up in the other boy's arms, his own arms entwined around Saeki's shoulders. Their faces are mere inches apart, and Shishido can feel Saeki's breath hot against his face. He stares agape, as the taller boy grins easily, leaning forward slightly so that the brim of the hat touches Shishido's forehead and their noses touch. "Well?" Saeki whispers silkily.
It's an invitation if Shishido's ever heard one, and he scowls, blushing furiously. "You asshole. You planned this," he says, but the voice in his head mentions how he isn't making any moves to get away and he has to agree, this time. But Saeki's arms are warm and muscular around him, sending shivers up and down his spine, and he smells really nice. His breath even smells nice-- minty and fresh. His voice gets louder, then. Kiss him, moron.
Shishido does. It's light, almost just a simple brush of lips, and he feels/hears Saeki's small gasp of surprise, as if the boy didn't expect Shishido to do anything. That makes Shishido feel smug and bold, so he does it again. This time, there's definite contact and tongue, because Saeki has recovered and kisses back eagerly. Shishido hears a moan and briefly wonders if it was him. His voice assures him it was, and he ignores it, choosing instead to concentrate on how good it feels to have Saeki's lips and tongue plundering his mouth, hot and passionate. Then Saeki nibbles his bottom lip and it's his turn to gasp, eyes widening. He thinks maybe his eyes crossed, but he can't be sure and his voice has gone incoherent with lust, so he can't depend on that anymore.
After a few more breathless moments, Saeki pulls away, eyes bright and lips looking thoroughly kissed (Shishido smirks smugly because hey-- that was HIS doing.) and grins. "Well."
Shishido raises a brow. "Well, what?" he asks. How do you talk to someone you've just made out passionately with, anyway? His voice is still suspiciously absent.
Saeki shrugs, tightening his grip and making Shishido blush more, scowling as he does so. "Nothing. just...well. That was nice, is all. I'd like it if it happened more often," he says, his smug grin faltering a bit.
Shishido stares at him blankly. He has no idea how to react to that. He settles for grunting an appproval. "Sure."
Saeki's eyes light up again, and he grins. "Great. I'll see you same time tomorrow, then? We can actually finish the game." He raises his brows quickly, shooting Shishido a heated stare that makes him blush for the gazillionth time, dammit. "...Or not, if you know what I mean."
Shishido stares. His eye twitches. His cheeks grow warmer. His voice is back, and it's really happy. And strangely enough, Shishido finds himself grinning after a few moments. "You never know, moron. Now let me go so I can go home. I have CURFEW, you know." He steps back, contradicting his earlier statement. Without The Hat.
Saeki begins to take the hat off of his head and Shishido shakes his head. "Keep it. I'll win it back tomorrow." He nods his goodbye and walks off. He doesn't want things to get TOO mushy. His voice argues, but he mentally punches it and keeps walking.
"Kojiroh."
Saeki turns, a smile on his face. "Syuusuke.” He watches as Inui, Momo and Eiji step out from behind their own bushes, all smiling just as widely as the two childhood friends. “This was the best idea you’ve ever had, I think.”
Fuji simply smiles. “I know,” he says, glancing over at Inui, who is still jotting down notes in his notebook with something like glee, perhaps. “But Sadaharu helped quite a bit. And of course, Eiji and Momo.”
Eiji bounces, grinning happily and leaning on Momo for support. “Nya, that was the best spy mission ever! It was fun!” he says, nodding his own agreement. Momo laughs, playfully shoving Eiji off of his shoulder.
Saeki shoves his hand in his pockets and glances up at the brim of The Hat. “Yeah. Thanks. Anyone up for post-spy mission burgers, then?”
Momo’s eyes light up and he yells in delight. “Yes! Let’s go!!” He and Eiji take off running in the direction of the burger shop, leaving Saeki, Fuji and Inui smiling bemusedly in their wake. “Well,” Fuji says, still smiling his smile, “Let’s go, then. They’ll have eaten all the burgers if we don’t hurry.”
“Aa,” Inui agrees, reaching his free hand down and lacing his fingers with Fuji’s. They share a small smile that says everything and walk off.
Saeki grins and follows, and thinking about how much he really can’t wait until tomorrow. Really.
