I looked at Isaac and Samuel in the rear view mirror. Samuel had been drifting in and out of sleep on the drive, while Isaac looked contentedly out the window."
"I love you, Isaac." I said to him.
"I love you, Mommy!"
I smiled.
"Mommy, I love you from the front yard to the back yard."
"Well, I love you to the trampoline and back."
"I love you to the mailbox and to the trampoline and back."
I paused. What could I use to up the ante? "Issac, I love you to PPD and back." We were driving to PPD to pick up Steve.
"I love you, Mommy."
"I love you, too, dear."
"I love trains."
"That's good."
"I love that airplane." I looked ahead of us and saw a plane, landing gear down, circling in for an Austin landing.
Isaac continued. "I love Daddy. I love Samuel. I love cars."
I smiled at him and kept driving.
He continued. "I love this bridge. I love boats."
Sweet boy, I thought.
"Mommy, sometimes I love everything." I stole another glance at him in the rear view mirror. He was smiling.
