Pickles don't take no for an answer.

I'm gonna stand alone and not talk about the snow. I'm actually gonna take a moment and talk politics.

I dunno how many of you are aware, but I am in favor of the war in Iraq. Yes. I agree with President Bush on one thing. Lynch me now.

Saddam Hussein was and remains an extremely evil man who we helped install into power; power he then used to slaughter, torture and maim thousands of his own people. There is utterly no justification for his actions, utterly no way to wash away our own culpability in the horrors he perpetrated. He remains a threat to humanity, an opportunistic despot who would destroy the world to keep his pleasures intact. While others of his ilk remain in power, not so many directly depended on our aid to install themselves firmly into their tyrannies.

I look forward to seeing this mad dog put down for good, though his courtroom whining sessions provided me some amusement.

What's more, we now owe the Iraqi people a debt. We marched in promising liberty and stability and so they hold us responsible for that promise. Are our only options the bungling scapegoating and torture of the current Administration or an all out retreat? I firmly say NO. The horrors being condoned or inflicted by our own troops must not stand, and I praise Senator McCain and his bipartisan supporters for proposing legislation to end such horrid affairs, but I promise you that a withdraw now would make such hideous actions seem like a sunny day on the beach. This would not be merely a Vietnam, with an invasion and purge (horrible enough to consider), but all-out civil war with multiple outside nations providing funding PLUS mass genocide tossed in for kicks. Can we who destabilized this nation then simply wash our hands of it?

No. We have to see this through. We need to thoroughly clean house from the current nest of traitors and political ignoramii who shouldn't be authorized to tie their shoes, let alone decide how the articles of war be plotted out, but still we must stand in Iraq. Right now we are the only thing that stands in the way of a flood that would make Noah say "Fuck this shit, God. I'm gonna find a nice beach and a Pina Colada before the end."

Do we really want that kind of blood on our hands?
