Dr. visit today

Sapphira had a weight check today at her doctors office, Last friday they said she weighed 6lbs 14oz, and today she weighed 7lbs 14oz.  They didn't check her height but then they really didn't need to.  I'm so excited that she is a whole pound bigger!  I wish that she really was 8lbs 2oz like her WIC appointment said she was.  A whole pound is a GREAT thing though!
The Doctor didn't even want to talk about getting Sapphira back on to the breast at feedings... which was kinda sad for me, but she also told me she didn't want Sapphira having formula.. so she is at least for her having breastmilk.. just not straight from the breast.  However she did ask me what I was doing differently as if she didn't expect me to have been doing it all along.. so I'm going to start my own plan.
Sapphira's next weigh in is in 2 weeks.... so from now until then (minus tomorrow when I have to leave her with a sitter) I am going to start putting her on my breast with the lactation aid and then offering her a bottle afterward... This is going to be A LOT of work.. but I really HATE the pumping and storring and washing bottles and warming bottles and feeding Fia.. I'd love to take those extra steps back out, but I don't want to do it at Fia's expense... so I'm going to 'offer' the direct method, and continue the not so direct method.

All in all Fia's appointment was really wonderful!

In other news After posting my last entry about Sapphira and how stressed I was with pumping things have gotten a lot better.  My emotions are not on such a HIGH status.  However I have some people to thank directly for helping me get over my stresses.  First off my pastor and his wife!  They came over to our house and prayed with us, and talked and visited awhile, and it really helped!  I wanted to write an entry here specifically on them, but I never got the time, so this will have to do.  Pastor Michelle, you are a prayer warrior that I enjoy SO much, and I appreciate all that you've done!  Ps. David, Thank you so much for the heart that you have to tend to the flock of God!  I've truely never had a set of pastors care and take care of me so much!
Sugar mamas... so many of you have come forward with prayers or concerns for Fia and ideas and thoughtful words for me, you have always been there for me, and for each other!  I've never met such a larg group of women that care so much for each other!  Specifically (though I know I will forget many of you and I don't want you to feel left out) I'd like to say thank you to Brocha, Hilary, and Emily (though you are not really a sugarmama)
And my church friends, both here and in Oklahoma... you are all so wonderful and your prayers have been heard I'm sure, just look at Fia and you'd know!

Patrick and I have been discussing getting a second car, and possibly selling the Envoy to get something smaller, so we can save money, no more payments on cars, and two vehicles so that I can have a tiny bit of freedom... Tomorrow we are driving to Long Beach to look at a Sunfire that someone is selling for $1000, if we get it I'll be able to get out of the house sometimes!  I really hope it is worth the drive, and that we end up with a second car!  If we do I can start to look for the vehicle I want.... and Patrick agreed that I could choose the car I wanted!  It will be my first car that I REALLY wanted.. but I have no idea what I want!  I mean I do, but I don't.  I want a car that looks nothing like a station wagon but has the space of one!  I want at least 5 seats, and a space big enough to put the dogs in it without them laying on the kids... I need a practicle vehicle, one that is good on gas, but  not so HUGE as the ENvoy.. maybe I'll get a van, but I'd actually like much better to have a car.  If anyone has any ideas please pass them along.. but keep in mind we are trying to get out of debt not back into it, so we're looking for something that costs less than $3000.
