World history is hard... especially when it is coupled by an impending SAT World History subject test... which, I swear, is (like) the hardest test in the world. I hope my students continue to push themselves and not become demotivated... Their hard work will yield scholarship opportunities and the impressive scores necessary for the most competitive universities. What they might not realize, though, is that getting over half of the questions correct is actually rather good!
(What they also do not realize is that my class is not "hard" compared to other college-preparatory classes at more competitive high schools.)
My truck died this morning. It will not start. Turn the key, and... well, nothing. No click, no sound, no juice, no hum... nothing. Fortunately, my truck is still under warranty, and Allen Samuels Chevrolet towed the truck to their dealership for free.
They blame the truck's issues on the battery. (Mind you, I recently replaced the battery about three months ago... at NTB... not at the dealership, given prior hassles with their service department.) Since the battery is not the "official" battery for the vehice, they offered to replace it with one of their batteries... for, 158 dollars. Good God(dess)! That's ridiculous.
I laughed loudly, and I argued that such a price would be ridiculous. So, tomorrow, I will come get the battery, go to NTB, have NTB replace it according to the battery's warranty, and go back to the dealership.
I certainly find it difficult to believe that my car died because of a 3-month old battery. If the battery is zapped, I believe there is some problem with my truck that caused it to become zapped.
What a damn hassle!
