My thoughts for this day.
I haven't posted at all about the Duke Rape incident, because I really haven't had any opinion nor have I particularly cared about it. I am not ever sure why its been in the news at all. However, the recent acts by the women’s lacrosse team are the reason I post. Now I am not sure how many have you seen, but the women lacrosse team has decided that they will all wear armbands that say innocent on them. I think this is an awful idea. I understand the idea of camaraderie, of having your friends back, but adding the words innocent is adding insult to injury. I mean how dumb are they going to feel in thirty years if it turns out that a rape did really happen? They'll be real proud of supporting rapists. (Like the people in South Dakota feel, zing!) Not to mention the coach of the team got the male coach, who was forced to resign, to come and talk to her team. Which I again think is uncool. Although, actually this one isn't that bad if taken without the first thing, but the two combined is just uncool.
Speaking of uncool: Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah told the country's newspapers to stop publishing photos of women. His reason: "One needs to think if he would want his daughter, sister, or wife to appear like that. Of course, no one would." Yeah I'm sure Madeline Albright relatives are upset of her showing up on TV and print and sounding smart, how dare she?!
By the way, 17 years ago today, Denmark became the first country in the world to legalize gay marriage.
And hey how about some Conservative Music?
but the biggest and best thing is that today 76 years ago the Supreme Court ruled that buying BEER does not violated the Constitution.
