After my first hour with the new entry in the Mega Man series, I can safely say that it's 1000 Wii Points well spent. I heard about how this game was going to be more difficult than past NES Mega Man games, and man, did they ever deliver! It took me the whole first hour just to complete 1 stage!
It wasn't Concrete Man's stage, which was the first one I attempted. It took me quite a few tries to get through to the boss. The 2nd and 3rd elephants took some time for me to get past without getting killed. As for the boss, well, I only had 1 life left, and while I did get an idea of how Concrete Man fought, I didn't stand a chance at the moment.
Next, I tried Plug Man's stage. It also took a few tries despite my seeing video footage of it from the demo some time ago. As for the boss, I got the pattern, but my reflexes weren't exactly ready for me to deal with him using the Mega Buster and no E-Tanks. Heck, one time, I had (and used) an E-Tank, and even then, that wasn't enough.
So after another "Game Over", I went on to Jewel Man. It had some tricky jumps and a mid-boss that took some practice to beat, but when I got to the boss, it didn't take that long for me to get the pattern, and I was able to do better against him than I did against the other 2. But I still had a problem beating him. So I decided that I needed to visit the shop and buy an E-Tank. After doing so, I returned to Jewel Man's stage, went through, and this time, I beat him.
It's gonna take me more time than I thought to beat this game. And I'm going to enjoy every bit of it.
