The Not-So-Latest
mrteufel mentioned to me that I hadn't posted in a while.
So here I am with the not-so-latest.
Mum had a seizure, we think, well at least that is what her doctor thinks, the hospital is not so sure, even though she spent 2 weeks there.
Mum's a little bit weaker strength wise since getting back home.
A friend of mine who moved away, called me, a few days after Mum went into hospital, to tell me that an old friend's mum past away, after short illness in hospital.
Her mum was a lovely person.
I visited my old friend a few days later to catch up and see how she was doing.
We ended up watching tacky old tv shows on dvds and finish off with a indian dinner.
It was good seeing her after we lost touch for a few years.
I went to the funeral, well it was as good as funerals can be.
My old friend and her brother seemed to be holding up ok.
I went back to their place to have a quiet but good late morning cuppa.
I hope to catch with my old friend some more soon.
I went to a major games convention and played in a tourney, mainly to help a friend out, to fill up the numbers.
Talk about a crash course, I got trounced by the more experienced players, as I had only one game under my belt and had only been able to partially read the rules.
My only luck seemed to be able to buy the rules, second hand at about a quarter of the price of a new set.
I was still able to win the Sportsmanship Award as I was willing to sacrifice all I had for the greater good.
I like to compete but not necessarily to win.
I've also decided to work on the garden, bought a new mower and some gardening tools.
I've already gotten rid of the clover patch that took over the front yard, it was nice and green but 1 foot high in places.
