CHARACTER
» Name: Fujiko Mine
» Fandom: Lupin III
» References you can use:
http://www.lupinencyclopedia.com/profiles/characters/mine_fujiko (not that it has much)
» Canon Point: "post-anime" so that if you bring up "new" stuff I'll try to roll with it. My Fujiko is mostly from the first and second manga series, a lot of green and red jacket and only a few of the tv specials/movies because she doesn't have much screen time in them nor room for accurate character portrayal (SOMETIMES). Cagliostro is a definite add-in because it's my favorite though.
» Gender: Female (Femme Fatale)
» Age: Hey now a lady never tells. (It's canonically a mystery but figure about 27ish. She'll always just say mid-20s and if you really press her, she honestly doesn't know. She could be 33 but she doesn't know it and would NEVER EVER admit that if she did)
» Sexual Orientation: Hetero. She'll flirt with women and go so far as making out for an audience but she doesn't have much interest in it other than tricking guys/conning people/luring them into a trap.
» Appearance:
Height: 167 cm
Weight: 50 kg (Yeah right no. :|)
Bust: 99.9 cm, Waist: 55.5 cm, Hips: 88.8 cm (again... no. This is done for the number puns by the writers and unrealistic but :|)
Hair Color: Fujiko's canon hair color changes, in part because of wigs and disguises but mostly because different artists perferred different colors. It's all real life tones. Brown, blonde, red, with brown being the predominant color so the others are shades. For RP purposes I go ~seasonally~ mostly for laughs and a way to work that insanity in. :| MOST of the time her hair is medium brown and wavy.
Eyes: Big and brown.
Predominant feature: Her boobs. They made her famous (infamous?) and kickstarted the big-boobs stereotype in anime. Thank you Monkey Punch. <3
She's also very muscular/well toned from martial arts, sports (she likes most sports, the more extreme the better) and wielding two machine guns at the same time.
» Fighting Ability: Fujiko is an extremely experienced, highly trained fighter. She can drive almost any kind of vehicle, (submarines, airplanes, helicoptors, tanks, cars, trucks, trains) but her favorite are motorcycles. She is an amazing martial artist, a decent swordsman (however she usually sticks to short blades and dagges) and very good with guns. (Mine carries 5. Her 2 Thompson machines guns, twin Walther PPKs and her infamous Browning 1910). However she doesn't want anyone to know how good a martial artist she is so her first line of defense if she wants to make you back off is her guns which she's a lot more well known for having. This doesn't mean she won't happily knee you in the balls if you try to rape her. *cough Lupin*
For some demonstrations of such I've supplied AMVs. They are by no means the limit of her skills, merely a good view so you can get a glimpse into her makeup. Mean Girl:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PkgZ1J4dwFU Warning this link has topless nudity:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J_CEtXo8tQc Some skills she just won't show until/unless you back her in a corner. She plays helpless flirty ditz a lot and will usually try to make you think she's virtually useless only so that she can pull the rug out from under you and whap you over the head with it for underestimating women. Then she'll run away like a coward, but she'll have taken your wallet.
Fujiko is also extremely paranoid and traps... everything. When she stays at a hotel room she sets up traps on the drawers, on the bed, on the cieling, on the windows, and if she KNOWS someone like Pycal is coming after her she'll go all out elaborate and throw in some machine guns set on lazer triggers. Yes, really. Like most thieves she believes no one else has any honor and as such, "plans" accordingly.
» Personality/Background: Femme fatalle, Fujiko Mine is meant to vaguely represent the ultimate danger woman (mafia/thief/secret agent/assassin etc.) She's called a woman of enigma in the opening even and you can never be sure what side she's playing on. She teams up with Lupin, Zenigata, crazy ass psychos trying to take over the world; anyone who she thinks will profit her. Fujiko has a tendency to side with anyone she considers an underdog which often is Lupin himself but other times it's just raving psychos. Her motives are frequently wrapped in an aura of mirrors to bend and twist perceptions. She'll ally with Lupin against the Scorpion only to have been secretly allied with Zenigata all along to capture Lupin so she can get rid of her arrest warrant and bounty. Some of the things she does appear COMPLETELY irrational (such as trying to help random raving psychopath take over a country, start it up with him as president/prime minister/dictator/ruler supreme and with her doing all the army, secret agent, and secretary of state stuff) only to later find out she was supposedly planning from the start to betray him and help Lupin. Or so she claims.
Sometimes she's genuinely sweet and caring and trying to cover it up, other times she's just being a selfish bitch. However in the manga, Fujiko does selfishly bitchy things usually when she's been hurt or mistakenly thinks she's in the right helping someone who deserves it/will help others. (You can see this a lot in MM with her sticking by Tsuna even though she gets infuriated.) She's a conwoman and she never says or does anything without an angle. She's most dangerous when she's being nice because it means she wants something. When she's being mean she's having an animalistic reaction of feeling threatened and trying to make you back off. She's skittish. She genuinely likes animals and will protect them at the sacrifice of herself but not at the sacrifice of kids/Lupin or someone of the like. She's amazingly strong and wants to get stronger (going to idiotic lengths to try that even though it nearly gets her killed and she sometimes fails) but if she can manipulate someone else into protecting her by pretending to be weak, frail, and useless she'll do it in a heartbeat. On the other hand if she feels her back is against a wall, she'll fight you to the death, kicking, screaming, shooting and scratching the whole way down. And if she thinks pretending to be even stronger than she is will make you back off she'll do it. This dichotommy has the biggest effect regarding someone like Mello where she seems to switch back and forth because she can't tell which one will suit her and goes with the situation.
It's difficult to truly keep her peripheral "masks" regarding villains working in an RP that she's been in so long because even if she starts to let someone in as much as Lupin/Zenigata/Goemon (or more than that) most of the characters in Lupin are one-shots that she only has to interact with for, at most, a couple months. The only other characters she's known for much more backhistory are those she's run away from, run away from, run the fuck away from. This includes, of course, the main 4 (Lupin, Zenigata, Jigen, and Goemon). There are people she can't really run away from on the Grand Line and now she's set herself up because even though she wants to run (a lot) there's nowhere she can go and she has too much invested in the sub. So the best she can manage is a lot of roaming and being torn between being guarded and testing new waters.
Despite being stabbed in the back a lot (some of it her fault, a lot of it not always) Fujiko tends to "slip up" and try again. Usually for a calcuated reason (so she tells herself) but mostly because she wants someone to prove her wrong, someone who won't betray her like most of everyone she's known. This doesn't mean she won't betray you if she gets paranoid enough to think it's coming. And yes, Fujiko is very paranoid. (see traps in fighting skills section) In the past she's been known to tutor kids/girls/someone who gives her a good enough reason to; but this usually doesn't end well for her so she always has a side goal going, using the kids as a mask, using them to get to something, earn trust where they live or whatever. Yes, she tends to be a bit motherly in MM but early in the RP she was extremely resistant to it (call her Mom and she'll FREAK out -- which, YES, has happened in canon, more than once) she's just accepted over the course of 11+ months that it's just as servicable a masker and indeed gets her places she wants to be.
She will just about never do anything without an angle.
Fujiko wishes for safety (see paranoia) but at the same time, not enough to curb her complete danger addiction/love of life/thrill seeking behaviour. She'll stand on the front of speedboats, shooting the distance (and crash, at that), she'll go sky diving, hang gliding, jumping out of airplanes, hang on by a rope to moving helicoptors with a ridiculously big smile on her face, and purposesly tell mafia to go fuck themselves when she's already about to be shot. She'll take on secret agent missions to get favors from governments, and when she gets wind of a betrayal, run away to double cross them first. With an amazing memory, she hates losing pieces but it's been known to happen (usually mad scientists or world governments trying to erase her secrets). She'll keep someone else's secrets on point of torture BUT she'll spill if she knows it will help her more than hurt. (On torture you can figure she assumes once she tells they'll kill her). She's been kidnapped over 20 times, been on rescue missions for other kidnapped people and tends to be leery or risking it (give her a good enough reason/shinies and she probably will anyway). While she generally learns from mistakes she also keeps doing some of the same stupid things over and over (falling for Lupin, running from Lupin, falling for shinies yet it's a trap and almost getting killed) the one biggest thing she progressed in the story with was regarding curses/superstitions. She started off skeptical but by the later seasons she KNEW certain things were real and often not worth fucking with. (That doesn't mean she won't try to steal a KNOWN cursed treasure, it means she'll try to find a way to break the curse so she can still have it without dying :|)
Regarding shinies, it's like the Nazi woman in Indiana Jones 3 (The Last Crusade). She almost can't really help herself. She wants it at any cost and gets hypnotized by the greed of shinyness. This leads to completely bonehead decisions most times and oftentimes virutally throwing her life away for just a few more baubles. (Which is naturally one of the most common themes in Lupin III.) She loves shinies more than you, but they might tie with animals. She has a lot more capacity to love inanimate objects, because they don't betray her, it would just be her betraying herself. She loves rare things most of all because they're most valuable, and this is also especially true regarding animals. She finds a lot of cats creepy and disgusting (instinct supposedly) but at the same time will still on rare occasions pick one up and cuddle it. (This however is likely due to original artists' intentions vs. what the tv special writers forgot/didn't realize). She will hunt treasure no matter how dangerous and trapped and still insist she won so long as she came out with something. Off screen Fujiko is mentioned as having a lot more successful missions without Lupin & gang but she still calls them in for big projects or to betray them or for some reason or another.
Also, when she gets away with a lot of money she likes to invest it in ridiculously stupid pyramid schemes. Mostly because she's easily conned into doing things ("Hey Fujiko want to do something fun like go rob the White House?" = always very yes even knowing how dumb and pointless it would be and just for kicks and grins and infamy, even though she doesn't want any of the infamy and goes to lengths to avoid it) but arguably because she wants a reason to keep needing to steal for funsies/gets bored hanging around Maui after 2 weeks/wants Lupin's attention again. She tends to think lots of things are good ideas and sticks with them to the end, running away when they blew up with a, "Whatever, it's all your fault!" and hypocritically refuses to take responsibility for herself. On that note; Fujiko in general doesn't want to take responsibility for herself. She's childish like that and will bicker with kids like she's 14 not a full grown adult who could away at any minute she wanted to. "Yes you are," "No I'm not," "Yes you are!" "No I'm not" "Lupin! MAKE THEM STOP D:" :|
She's extremely emotional and impulsive despite always trying to be calculating and cold. (money, money, money). She tends to be easily driven by passion and no matter how much she wants to keep her distances she falls for people hard which is why she gets so hurt/upset when she percieves a betrayal.
Fujiko is ridiculously nosy and far too curious for her own good. It is the number one canon and RP reason she gets in trouble. She butts in where she's not wanted, she butts in where she makes things MESSIER :|, she butts in even when people tell her to scram and aim a gun at her. Goemon has outright said he refuses to work on the same mission as Fujiko sometimes (because he doesn't trust her and she's a pain the ass) and Jigen will do anything for Lupin but he gets fed up with her nosyness the quickest. Getting her to shut up is never going to be easy for you. She won't do it even when threatenend with death, she's been known to babble MORE at that point. If she catches wind of something interesting she wants it right then and there and will pounce and try to ferret it out even when this is ridiculously foolish and dangerous.
In D&D terms you can safely figure she has a high charisma, high dexterity, high intelligence but a 3 wisdom. :| Wise, Fujiko is NOT. She's smart but impatient, and ridiculously foolish. She'd rather con someone else into doing dirty work for her but if she can't find someone she can vaguely trust with it, she will actually buckle down and do it herself rather than risk of the betrayal. (Assuming it's important enough, she's also whimsical and likes to pull and/or watch pranks just for laughs.)
Important canon relationships:
- Arsene Lupin III:
I personally think this quote always summed it up best:
"Fujiko: Sometimes we're allies, at others we're enemies. Occasionally, we're even lovers. The guy's a natural born lady-killer. Watch your step around him.
Clarisse: He walked out on you?
Fujiko Mine: Oh, hardly. I walked out on HIM."
She can't forgive and forget a lot of things and expects Lupin to betray her first, and she loathes his womanizing ways, considering herself most important, thus this leads her to frequently betraying him. They're both a bit egotistical and this makes them rivals in everything, with Fujiko occasionally trying to outdo Lupin, occasionally trying to get his attention when he thinks has to outdo her. They can never seem to get their act together, but yes, she's loved him. And a sort of one-sided unrequited love is a common theme with her. He's broken her heart (in manga it'll show Lupin running away with a broken heart hovering over Fujiko's head and just alksdjalskdjaskdj so sad)
~Permissions~
- Threadhopping with this character - yes/no/other?: Yes. Always welcome. But be mindful of other people's journals if they don't like it. You're also always welcome to threadjump in Fujiko's journal, but she will read ALL of it an occasionally chime in with her own nosy opinion.
- Subject line comments: Always okay in my journal/with me and preferred if you're going to do more than 1 comment/explain something ooc. If I do it too much to you, slap me as a reminder.
- Hugging this character?: She will freeze up but probably not doing untoward unless you know she doesn't like that character. If she likes them like a little kid she'll awkwardly pat them.
- Giving this character a kiss?: Warn me first. She'll usually be pretty open to it but she'll try to steal your wallet.
- Badtouching: Too far and you'll take a boxing glove trap to the face.
- Lovers: two known canon exes; Lupin III (see above) and Poon (deceased, shot by Fujiko.)
- Punching this character (provided they can fight back): Yes, but Fujiko punches back. Often with bullets.
- Easiest way to get on her good side: Shinies. Bringing her shiny presents = instant win.
- Easiest way to get on his bad side: Harder than you'd think. She doesn't trust anyone to begin with so to get worse than that you'd have to do something to "betray" her.
- Can I hack her journal?: Yes.
- Can she hack my journal?: Yes. So be wary. (Although I won't do it without permission or anything that's 100% unhackable of course)
- Fourth Wall Breakage: Yes, all the time. My Fujiko is 80% manga so she 4th wall breaks quite a bit there but I try to keep it down unless someone else does it first.
- Can I shapeshift/bodyswap/etc?: Yes. Just let me know what you have in mind/how long/etc. The zanier, the more I'll love it.
- Maim/Murder/Death: Generally I want to go with no, because Fujiko's MANY fears are a big part of her personality and dying would wreck that up a bit, but we can still discuss it and plot it out.
- Blood: Yeah that's fine.
