Ryan decided to go to Kensington Metro Park to take nature photos today after Graphic Design, and asked if I'd like to tag along, so I grabbed my cameras (one digital, one camcorder;) and my sketchbook and off we went. That park is HUGE and gorgeous and there were animals just EVERYWHERE (and I kept thinking about Sara as I was taking photos haha). Grant happened to be disc golfing there at the same time, and he's been asking me to tape him disc golfing, but I was busy drawing turtles, so I'll have to do that another day...
I'm going to scan and upload my sketches another day. And also I need to scan and upload my negatives from the abandoned cabin photoshoot with Heather and Brittany last week. We all got some really nice photos. And then my hands smelled like stop bath for a couple days afterwards, which made me happy:)
Anyways-
That tree house looking thing has Osprey nests in it. We could hear the babies, but the parents weren't around when we went to investigate and we couldn't get very close...
This goose followed me around on the dock for a while. We became good friends.
cute chickadee. Those chickadees are camera-whores...they posed everytime we got near them
This might be an Egret, but I'm not sure... it got waaaaay too close for comfort though. I was afraid to take it's photo so close- It was definitely staring at me and I didn't want to make any weird noises that would give it cause to peck my eyes out.
a different one
a huge snapping turtle. it's shell must have been at least a foot long
and these two were even bigger!
a red winged blackbird. Also cam-whores...
I think this is a grackle. I looked it up and that's what it looks like.
an adorable chipmunk on the same stump
I thought this was interesting graffiti
a cardinal
this tree was on an island in the middle of the little lake. Not sure what kinds of birds those are though...herons?
a swan
and some tiny little painted turtles
And now I have a gorgeous v-neck shaped sunburn, complete with camera strap line and circle from the pendant I am wearing. However, my nose and cheeks are pleasantly pink and I no longer look like the undead:)
