Another long time with no update from me. I don't know why...it's not like i don't have anything to write about, maybe I've just outgrown this thing to a point? Maybe I can't find the time to devote to it like when I was nothing back in the day...*shrugs*
Well...regardless, let me give you a quick breakedown of whats been going on lately.
Lots of training to get me ready to go to Iraq including
-Blue Force Tracker program. I'll be trained on a high-tech communication tracking system that the Military uses. I can't tell you anymore on that though...yay for having "Secret" clearance.
-Spent a week in the field digging fighting positions, sleeping in the dirt and rain, learning patrol, convoy security, and ambush tactics, and getting attacked with CS gas and machine guns at 1am.
-Going to be getting my HMMWV (HUMVEE) license soon
-Going to a machinegunners course, which means i'll know everything about the machine gun weapons we use (M-249 SAW, 240G, M-2 .50 Cal, and MK-19 Automatic Grenade Launcher), so I wont have to sit in the shop while i'm in iraq, and I'll be qualified to go out on patrols and convoys.
Plus..I also got a new tattoo which is fucking amazing, i'll be getting it colored in next weekend after I get paid.
The only shitty thing that happened was yesterday, and it was the most fucked up day i've ever had in the marine corps. If anyone cares to hear the details you can call me (716-909-6205, just in case anyone forgot, since i don't talk to all but like 5 people on a routine basis), i don't feel like writing the whole story down right now...but needless to say, I was formally charged with the violation of 5 articles of the UCMJ (Uniform Code of Military Justice). I was read my rights, and was about the width of an ass hair away from, along with 4 of my friends, getting busted from lance corporal down to private, getting sent to the brig (military jail) for a month and 1/2, and getting a dishonorable discharge from the marines. And all of that bullshit over something that was not even my fault...but i was guilty by association i suppose. Don't worry...none of that will happen I don't think, my platoon sgt ripped up our charge sheets, and we all got some punishment, but nothing very serious.
Ok...I'm tired and i need to be up early for PT.
G'night!
