chocolate does not top my list

over lunch the other day, warren and i ended up talking about comfort foods. i guess there was a poll done in the UK not long ago and chocolate topped it and a cup of tea with a biscuit followed closely in second place. this has gotten me thinking of comfort foods and how they would differ from person to person, depending on their families, their class, their race/ethnicity, their gender (?), etc.

so, please list your comfort foods because i wanna know.

i think my list would look something like this:

pho
coffee/tea
deep fried tofu with fermented soybean sauce
pizza
things involving coriander or ginger
