Plot: Set during the American Revolution, this film tells an incredible story of how one man travelled through British territory to delivery a flag to George Washington.
Chris Pine plays a simple builder with a loss of faith in patriotism. He's then offered a chance to regain that when asked to carry out a dangerous mission; to delivery very important American flag to Washington for the Americans final battle against the British. He reluctantly agrees, all the while trying to protect the flag from a British captain(played by Russell Crowe) from destroying as he perseus him.
Notes: This is one of those patriotic films, where it tells the greatest story never told. There was well known historical moments during the war; from Paul Revere riding with a lantern while warning everone that the "British are coming!" to the Boston Tea Party. Paul Dano would play the best friend of Pine's character who tags along on his quest, and Gemma Arterton plays a woman who chooses to be kidnapped by Pine's character(during his trek through British territory) rather than be subjugated to an arranged marriage, and would be his love interest. And Paul Giamatti plays a collaborator for the British and Donald Sutherland plays the man who appoints Pine's character this mission.
Aside from the flag being larger than a normal one, this flag is a symbol of hope, which would boost morale for the Americans. And that's why this was tasked to be delivered to George Washington's army for their final battle.
