Monster Encyclopedia on...Vampires!

The vampire is an immortal monster that feeds on the blood of the living. They are basically the stuff of nightmares, they are as terrifying as they are powerful. The most deadliest predator in the world, you cannot outrun them nor beat them in a fight.

Descriptions: There are ways to know who is a vampire. The important part of vampires is that they do not have a reflection. Interestingly though, you can see them on footage, but that is only because the video recordings are digital, they capture only the image of a vampire. The mirror however, was designed as a spiritual object; when you look at yourself, you also look directly into your soul. And because vampires have no soul, they have no reflection. When a vampire attacks, black veins appear on their faces and their eyes become blood red as their pupils widened till it looks black. They also have sharp fangs concealed as they retract it for when feeding on a human or animal. Vampires also possess superhuman strength, speed and stamina and are immortal and can heal themselves from any injury, even ones that could kill an ordinary human. They can turn humans; first by biting then exchanging blood(making the dying human drink his/her own blood). A simple exchange; a vampire take a bit of your blood then replaces that amount with theirs, and the transformation is complete.

Origin: There is a legend of how vampires were 'born'. It is said that the first vampire was human when the Devil cursed him and his twin brother as monsters, where he would be bitten by a bat(and his brother a wolf), and so began the birth of another (non-human)race.

To kill a vampire: While immortal, the vampires can be killed like humans, just differenly and in a difficult way. When Judas Iscariot betrayed Jesus for 30 pieces of silver, that became a symbol for the damned. And so silver is a vampire's bane. You would never see a vampire carrying silver coins. Basically, you need silver bullets and blades coated in silver. It helps to have a shotgun with silver shards inside each shell. And because vampires are nocturnal, they are vulnerable to sunlight. They won't immediately combust into flames, though they will start smoking first before they start burning and eventually be set on fire. But it doesn't have to be sunlight, it can also be artificial sunlight known as ultra-violet(UV) or just set their ass on fire, either way they'll turn to ash like a human would through cremation only with a vampire it happens very quickly. To sum it all up, fire and silver are the only two elements that can hurt a vampire. Forget garlic being their weakness, that's bullshit, it does nothing. Due to their healing abilites, the only way to kill a vampire for good is either impale their hearts or decapitate their heads. So using a wooden stake won't do shit, unless the stake would have to be made of silver of course. And again, if cutting off a vampire's head, you would need to have an axe that's blade is coated in silver. Anything holy can harm them as well. A holy cross can repel almost every vampire(except for the oldest), and they can easily be burned by holy water. Other weapons, like a sword, can be affected as long as it is blessed(or have a holy symbol carved on it). Other examples would be if you were to carve a holy cross on the tip of the bullet, sometimes more affective if it is a silver bullet(as a precaution).

Rules & Habits: Vampires have very specific rules. They cannot enter a human home unless invited, unless it is not your own(the loop hole being say a vampire chases you and you enter another persons home, the rule won't comply if it is not your home). Some vampires can also sleep in coffins(if it is in homes), while other sleep upside down(if it is in caves). They can drink blood, but other fluids that is red(like wine or port), it is their method of tricking their body. They also have laws(such as being forbidden to turn a child), and that if these such laws were broken, then that vampire would be punished by some high councel in the most horrible way.

Types of vampires: There has been different sorts of vampires, both class and species;
Basic - The basic vampires are the ordinary types, some lived througout a decade, but all ordinary none the less. Some hunt on their own while others hunt in packs. They also live among the humans posing as ordinary civilians as a ruse to lure their victims.
Convent - The convent is for vampires who live longer, like a hundred years. Their way of living is that of high society, and are by far very respectable vampires who take rules very seriously, but are more combat trained than basic vampires. Most of their members are 'Old Ones'(I will get to that later).
Feral - The feral vampires are the most savage and dangerous type of vampires. Originally, they adapted in dark caves and evolved to look hideous, having claws for nails and being blind yet able to see through both sonar(like a bat) and sent. Being feral, these vampires are unpredictable and would attack even the basic vampires, yet they fear and obey the 'Old Ones'.
Old Ones - The old ones are the oldest of vampires, who lived through centuries and are extremely powerful. They possess hypnosis and the ability to turn into humanoid bat creatures. Convent vampires have that ability as well, but only few, and they are declared as elite guards. The Old Ones, being the oldest and most powerful, cannot be killed easily like ordinary vampires, especially as holy cross is useless on them.
Daywalkers - A rare breed; half-human half-vampire. Has all the strength of a vampire like strength, speed, agility and healing ability, and none of the vampire's weakness to sunlight or silver. But can be killed easily like an ordinary human if stabbed in the hard or shot in the head.

Enemies: other than vampire hunters, the vampires natural enemie are werewolves. A werewolf's blood is poisonous to them, as is their bite.
