It's been a good month since I've updated (though I do drop comments, I don't just not visit livejournal for days on end, and actually, I visit LiveJournal a lot but that's because I have fake LJs and they're more interesting than the real one) so here we go.

I went to Canada a couple weeks ago. Spent 6 days in Nova Scotia, Halifax mostly, with a couple nights in Antigonish and an overnight to drive the Cabot Trail. That part was to see The Canadian, which. I don't really know what to do about. We've never actually talked about if we're still dating, so I'm not sure we can break up. But I don't think it's going to work out. Anyway, then to Toronto to see some other friends from Korea. Had a great time, there...first night, we went to Koreatown and ate at this place that may as well have been picked up from small town Korea and dropped in downtown Toronto. Signs and everything. Had soju and galbi and samgeopsal. Yum. Then I saw the Darwin exhibit at the Royal Ontario Museum and it was GREAT. It wasn't terribly science-heavy (and given it's my field of study, I certainly knew all the science already), but they did a timeline sort of thing of his life and the evolution of the idea itself, traced with letters and journals. They didn't shy away from the religion controversy, either, and they didn't pull any punches, which I respected. The rest of the museum was also awesome and I spent literally all day there. The last night, we went to Gaytown, which was also great fun. Oh, drag queens lip synching Miley Cyrus. So much love.

Back home and working a lot now. Four days (sometimes five) a week at the lab, and four at Kumon. I'm doing online physics, too, and that's an every day affair. Homework due every night but Sunday and a test every Monday. It's...consuming. The lab's going well, though. FINALLY finished up the project I've been on since February today. I've been getting more into the molecular stuff, digests, and I'm learning how to streak for maxiprep tomorrow. Oh, and cutting up pigs on Friday. Yay.

Hockey's down to once a week for the summer, but it's a good scrimmage, with refs. Had a hat trick last week, actually, my first.

Other than that...I've been reading more for the summer, which is good. Finally finished Making of the Fittest by Sean Carroll (highly recommended) and I'm on some good ol' fiction thriller crap now. Just about to wrap up season 5 in the ongoing Stargate SG-1 marathon. Found a roommate for this fall after my ad was on Craigslist for THREE HOURS.

Life is...fine.
