Back in Atlanta until Tuesday (ugh, classes). We went to the game last night, and it was pretty damn great. Kovy with the hat trick, Hossa continuing to show that he is just sick on the puck, so damn strong, good play for forty minutes, if not the last period. Good saves from Kari, the goals...eh, not so much his fault. Rebounds the D watched get shot again, that kind of thing. He's still rusty, but even rusty he doesn't give up unscreened twenty-footers like Garnett, for his impressive moments, has been known to do. I <3 Kari. He's going to be some goalie.
Anyway. The little thing with Crosby was hysterical, because he was honestly acting like a spoiled brat. He slashed Kovy behind the goal (Ilya hit him hard and he went down awkwardly, said it should have been a cross-check), they yapped a little, then he was pissed off that Sutton dared to playe defense on him and slashed him and broke his stick, Ilya scored right at the beginning of the power play (one of those trademark lasers that's back out of the net before the goalie even realizes there was a shot) and just pointed straight at Crosby. "He took those stupid penalties all the time and he's 18-year-old kid and he can't play like this. He started yapping at his teammates. He should play really hard tonight and try to do his best." Kovy also said that "He's not Mario Lemieux yet." I think it's funny that Kovy is giving lessons on maturity, but he does have a point, and despite his label by the Canadian media, he's flashy, not unclassy, and he's always respected the game.
Should make tonight's rematch fun to watch, Dad might buy center ice for it. Not just for it, of course, because the Thrashers aren't televised as much down the stretch (idiots at TS) and it'll be nice to have it.
Going to see Brokeback Mountain this afternoon, then we're going to Swallow at the Hollow to see T. Graham Brown later.
I need to make an icon out of that pointing. Owned.
