a place to note things

I witnessed today two instances of parents being really good parents. In both - mothers each time - they were playing with their 4-7 year old child, being silly, acting rediculous, making the child totally happy, and completely heedless of how silly or rediculous their actions may have looked. A weaker person would have been moved to be self-concious hiding behind the pillars of a parking lot and making little shooting noises (pew, pew!) while the played cops and robbers with their little one. What was so cool about it was how thrilled the children in both cases were to be playing these games. They were into it, and so were the parents. Both parties feeling a lot of love and satisfaction from eachother in the doing. It warmed my heart, it did.

I have been away form this journal for a while, but this needed noting and this seemed like the right place to note it.

For those who may be curious, since I have been away I have:

moved into the Penthouse of my building
purchased a pet boa constrictor (named Chamberlain)
started production of Pilates media (podcasts and DVDs)
been profusely tattooed
made a ton of new and fantastic friends
sung an obscene amount of karaoke (and rocked it, I might add)
and had one of the strangest - and certainly the least jarring - break ups ever.
