had the major light bulb today concnerning how eating habits need to change when one is transporting oneself solely by man-powered means. This means that, for the majority of a day, I'm either walking, riding a bike or doing Pilates. The word of the day is calories, yo. And a lot more of them.
I was walking past the World Trade Center this afternoon and, in the courtyard of Building 2, there were 5 or 6 thirty-somethings in suits and ties playing hackey-sack. How very Portland. I laughed out loud to see them. Not derisively, mind you. Just amused.
My bike broke. It's an unfortunate irony that, the day after I move to a downtown location where my bike will be my primary mode of transport, it breaks. Fly wheel randomly seized. I live a couple blocks from The Bike Gallery, which has a good service department. I'll walk it down there soonish.
When I'm not teaching my ever-loving ass off.
