I am so frustrated with this country and its population! I'm sure it has something to do with my not ever being able to significantly influence anyone on any topic of significant moral consequence. It's almost like everyone's running off a cliff faster and faster, and there's nothing you can do to stop them. (though, of course, that is not true)

Part of me wants to take off for Hong Kong right now, on a loan, leave everything behind-- start over from scratch.

But that is not sustainable. Patience. Calm. And characterize in ways most consistent with reality.
