We don't need no education. We don't need no thought control.

I should put off writing about this until tomorrow when I get the last of my essays back, but today has been a day of crushing humiliation (which will not be addressed) and pleasant surprise and I would like to get some thoughts out of my mind. (Slightly non sequiturial but never mind.)

The Samantha I was two years ago would be dismayed at such an assertion, but I have decided that I really cannot be arsed about trying to achieve a first class degree. I will settle for a 2:1, even though right now it feels beyond my capabilities.

Historians & History: 55 ( a "bit" of a disaster) [compulsory]
Tolerance & Dissent: 69 (minus 4 for lateness) [medieval]
Gender & Sexuality: ?? (minus ? for lateness, though) [modern]
marking criteria: 40-44 = pass | 45-49 = 3rd class | 50-59 = 2:2 | 60-69 = 2:1 | 70+ = 1:1

I was blown away by the T&D mark. This is the module in which nobody knows what the fuck is going on because a) as sweet as the lecturer is, he's terrible at teaching and b) it's safe to assume that medieval history is not the most popular kid in class, both as part of the national curriculum and in general student consciousness. Before this year the last time I did anything remotely related to medieval history was probably in year seven when we got to colour in photocopies of the Bayeux Tapestry.

Does anyone has Pink Floyd's "Another Brick in the Wall Pt 2"? I can't believe I don't.
