my dad says that the whole justice system is messed up in texas(houston) he says cops kill black people all the time for no reason and its just covered up by everyone. it really doesnt surprise me as much as it disgusts me.
It's just hard for me to understand the fact that people still have the mindset that the color of your skin or ethnic background has anything to do with your intellegence or right to do anything you please... I want to do something for these boys because they are going to be sucked into a system that is hard to get out of.
ps. did you hear that Greg Holsted(sp) is on the real world? I though you, me, and dan should get together for a good laugh.
haha yeah! i kept up with every round of voting(didnt vote myself though because i could care less who's on the real world) i couldnt understand what people saw in him... his videos werent interesting haha but maybe my judgement is a little clouded because i know how obnoxious he actually is in person. i actually saw ms. alexander while the voting was going on and i told her about it and she was like oh wow he would be the perfect real world cast member. haha we had a good laugh about it.
anyway... in situations like this its almost like the trials should be held without the defendant in view of the jurors. but then the jurors would still see the witnesses and the people in the courtroom and there's no doubt that there would be way more black people in the courtroom with a black defendant than there would be if everyone involved was white. so that obviously wouldnt work but i feel like if they could only see what the crime actually was and not the people involved then everything would be so much more fair.
