Today Athena and I both got a mysterious email... I mean, we know where it came from and everything, but it was mysterious because it told us there was a new batch of hymns available in the Church music channels. They just released some music in May (I wrote a post about it), but they said they would be releasing batches every few months, and it has been a few months, after all.
So of course we immediately went to update our Sacred Music apps, but there were no new hymns! In my case, there wasn't even an update, because I've been so eager for another new batch that I already checked a couple of days ago. I was so excited when the app store said I could update...and then I was disappointed. And that is why this email is so mysterious. The best we can figure is that they wanted to make sure everybody knew that new hymns are a thing, like in case a ward hasn't been using them in their meetings yet. Our ward, for example. DX
At any rate, hopefully that means it won't be long before we get another batch. Not that it really matters, since our ward hasn't been using the first batch. And frankly, there are hundreds of hymns in the old/current hymnbook that nobody knows, either, if we're just looking for something new-to-everyone and unusual. So really it's just a matter of me liking to get new music to play with. As if I didn't already have plenty of music books...
Today I'm thankful for having lots of sheet music at my disposal, getting to look forward to more new hymns eventually, being done with those two ridiculous pages we had to translate, our electric fans working very well, and getting to watch Gorizilla.
