Today we had a bit of an adventure when our fire alarms started going off for no discernible reason. We've had to evacuate our home due to fire before, so this sort of thing is extra...alarming. But we investigated and could not find any source of smoke or anything, and after about a minute or two, they stopped blaring. Oh, but it was an exciting minute or two! Apparently the alarms agreed, because they gave us an encore about half an hour later. (Alarms, I did not mean "exciting" in a good way.)
The best I can figure is that someone in an adjacent unit was smoking, and they turned of their own smoke alarms, but traces came through the vents. I mean, there are other possibilities, like a glitch or they're possessed or they've been hacked somehow... I don't know if the smoke alarms are connected to the sort of network that could be hacked. Anyway, whatever the reason, we just hope it doesn't happen again.
In a complete change of subject, we watched So Dear to My Heart last night, and we still love it. I'm so sad that the Dear Danny store at Tokyo Disneyland has been transformed into a regular old merchandise store. I mean, Tokyo Disneyland has better merchandise anyway, but nowhere has Danny merchandise! ...Not that you need merchandise to enjoy a good movie, but sometimes when you like something a lot, you want something tangible to show for it.
But most of all, the lack of Danny merchandising means lessened interest in Danny's movie, and it's such a good movie! I guess some critics have decided it's too saccharine, but...I don't really have a "but." We just like it anyway. It's a cute little movie about a little boy raising a black sheep, and it's adorable.
And I almost forgot about the most important thing that happened today! It started last night, actually, when our nephew Gilderoy messaged me (he has a parent-restricted Facebook Messenger app) to tell me happy birthday month! That was cute enough by itself, but then this morning before school, he sent Athena and me each a picture. He apparently used some photo editing app or something to make us Miraculous pictures! It was so sweet of him.
Today I'm thankful for the fire alarms only give us two performances today, work going pretty well, getting to watch So Dear to My Heart, the nice weather we had today, and Danny the little black lamb. And the Miraculous pictures our nephew sent us for our birthday month♥
so dear to my heart,
life
