Back to Attack on Titan
We almost didn't watch Miraculous today. We're kind of in a tricky spot with it, since we finished season four again, because we can't decide whether or not we want to watch the Shanghai special before we start another rewatch. Then the idea of watching the New York special was thrown out there, and that was super appealing, but the result is that the indecision became stronger.
In the meantime, on Friday after we watched the movie we so thoroughly disliked, we came home to a package that was not one we had ordered. Nor was it comp copies. But Celeste had asked us our address previously, so we figured it was probably a birthday gift from her. After some deliberation about whether or not we should wait for our birthday, with no compelling arguments one way or another, we decided to just go for it. And! they were some super cool Survey Corps t-shirts ala Attack on Titan! Celeste's husband remembered us admiring them when he and our other brother-in-law both got one for Christmas, so they got us each our own!
And that is one of many things that has reminded us how far behind we are on Attack on Titan. The series is great and has a very compelling story, but it's also kinda dark and violent, so once we'd been separated from it, we just kind of forgot about it. The Nintendo Switch didn't help. We've kind of fallen away from simulcasts over the last year or so.
Anyway. There's a girl in Young Women who has declared Eren Yeager to be her husbando, and that, plus the idea that, if we're going to wear super cool Survey Corps t-shirts it would probably be good to know what all happens in the series, had us decide it was time to finally get back to it. So, after some wrangling our PlayStation account, that's what we finally did! And then of course the story kind of sucks you in, and we hadn't decided what episode/special of Miraculous we wanted to watch, so we kept going a little longer instead of switching over.
But then we were like, "Yeah, this show is kind of dark and violent. We need something happier." So we watched the Gigantitan episode of Miraculous. XD (We're 98% sure that episode was heavily inspired by Attack on Titan.)
Today I'm thankful for our very thoughtful sister and brother-in-law, having super cool Survey Corps t-shirts to wear when we go out for our birthday, getting to watch more Attack on Titan (...I may have also looked up the cast of the French dub (which we're not likely to ever hear anyway, but still) and discovered there is a character played by our favorite French voice actor...but he may be a character that already got killed and we forgot about), getting to watch Gigantitan, and rumors (from the director himself) that season five of Miraculous is going to begin airing next week(!!!).
