Oh, how it sounds like you to be conflicted by these emotions of yours! I too have gone through bouts of yerning for familiar people who understand what I'm doing when I make animal noises or when I click my tongue and clap my hands together like I'm holding coconuts or when I just plain feel like being evil and need a partner in crime. It is then that I feel a small void. But as soon as I experience that, I do a different motion or make a different noise and realize that it is a joke with a Chico friend and no one from Santa Rosa would understand. So things even out and it makes everything ok. As you mentioned, it was great to see Bryan and Kelsey, but were ready for them to leave. Call it selfish (who cares), but Davis is YOUR life, Chico is MY life, and everyone else we know has their respective place they share with no one. And that is fabulous. I was never one for walking around in my underwear, so I cannot identify with that. But I also miss barefeet.
On another note, I envy that you ride your bike everywhere, I envy that you have a good gym 2 seconds away, and I envy that you can eat healthfully. We cannot ride bikes on campus without getting a ticket, our gym sucks ass and there is no healthy food to be found in any market, caferia or other food station on campus. How it is that my size 2 pants fit just fine and are actually on the verge of wanting to be loose is beyond me. I just ate two cookies and half a can of pringles, and this is normal. The most exercise I'll get today is walking to the second floor of my math building.
