DIMSUM LAND!

Jan 16, 2010 03:17

Airport Express! Its this really cool train with a total of like 6 stops and ample legroom and space for all your luggages.

Views from the train.

Lippo Centre. En route to home for the next five days.

Awwww, siu ba.

Here we are!

Conrad bears.

Mini bar.

TV cabinet, isnt it pretty.

Checking if her cash is enough for H&M. HAHA. And we're finally ready to go!

All your dreams come true. Marnis, Jimmy Choos, YSL, MMM. I think the store's called Lane Crawford.

Dimsum before we shop to our hearts content.

Doughsticks wrapped in rice roll. Yum.

Bolou bao.

Where we are.

Our destination!

Guess where we were heading.

5 hours of grabbing frenzy.

Hmmm shopping makes one happy and hungry so we went off for some kick ass steamboat after.

The most awesome steamboat ever.

Most awesome sauce as well. You get to "customise" your own sauce.

The spread, generally.

THE SEX! Fried fish skin!

Fatty beef goodness.

Roast pigeon!

We went off to seek the famous dessert store in HK after our lovely dinner.

In my humble, honest opinion, its really wasnt that good. Wait till you see the upcoming photos. Now that is the best, which still have me dreaming about it now.

Herbal jelly. They're well known for their mango desserts though.

I love em glutinous balls.

Such a cute eye mask right.

Getting ready for Ocean Park.

Mac breakkie.

Haha toilet card from mac.

I was carrying four bags, standing in the sweltering heat, taking pictures of them. Just because i don't wanna be on the ride.

This was one of the two rides i went on. Haha. The other was the pirate ship where i was hurling too many strings of vulgarities at too fast a speed and everyone was laughing at me. ):

And then something terrible happened. We got separated from each other. We finally found one another after like 3 hours. Look at my face in the next picture.

After we found one another, we headed to the other part of Ocean Park via a cable car which was really scary because of the steep slopes below us. We were screaming at one another to keep very very still.

Shots from the cable car.

We spent most of the day in Ocean Park and we were starving by the time we got out of there and so the food quest begins!

OMGOMGOMG!!

BEST DESSERT STORE!!!!!

Celest's sago corn cream with coconut milk.

Julie's mango puree with dragonfruit, mango cubes and pomelo!

Berenice's mango beancurd. The beancurd is infinitely tastier than the local ones.

My hot coconut milk with sago balls filled with green bean and yam paste topped with sesame seeds!
This is what i've been yearning for for the past 4 months.

LAOOO SHAAAA BAOOOOOO!

Salty creamy buttery sweet egg york filled bao. Okay here i go again, BEST BAO EVER!!

The amount of food we ate this night amazes me. Let's see. Our first stop was this amazing cafe the hotel recommended. Instant noodles with pork chop, shredded ham and slice abalones, fried beef horfun and XO wanton noodles! After that we had curry fishballs, smelly toufu (them, not me, it still smells like how i remember it - sewage, HAHA) and fried pig intestines. Next stop was the dessert store, then the lau sha bao and our last stop was a typical HK cafe with the cutest and funniest waiter i've met.

After our tummies were filled to the verge of popping our pants buttons, we went shoe shopping before we headed to a 7-11, bought awesome instant cup noodles, beers and retreated to Berenice and Julie's room for beer chat. Had lotsa fun before going back to our own room (diff hotel btw but just next to each other).

Fried instant noodles with pork ribs.

Beef brisket.

That's him!

Next morning we head over next door for a swim!

This is their frigging bathroom.

Bathtub with a tv above it.

Something next to the toilet bowl for you to wash your ass if need be. Haha.

Sharing their daily complimentary fruits.

Their fantastic view.

And we're off!

We then realised non hotel guests have to pay to use their pool. Like $50 per person so we went back to Conrad to swim instead.

Conrad cakes galore.

Lan Kwai Fong, here we come!

We were first in this club where they stopped playing r&b at 11pm so we headed over to another club, Play. It was better than any that i've been in Singapore. The music was really good throughout the entire night and the manager was really nice. We had pops, shots, waterfall and champagne on the house! There was even a pole where we (embarrassingly) did dance around for a bit. Hahaha. By the time the taxi dropped us at Shang's lobby and the door swung open i was thrown out by the others weight. Sprained my ankle and walked around on the last day with a limp. But all was good!

The supposedly very good beef noodles that we didnt get to try.

Mister softee van!

BEST!

Let me describe this. First, okay, usually, people will pick a form of noodle they like. All the noodles and ingredients are cold. You get to choose another two ingredients. They have jap octopus, seaweed, sausages, hotate, bla bla bla. All 3 ingredients are put in a small plastic bag and a special sauce is used to mix them well. I LOVE THE SAUCE AND CHILLI OIL. The best thing? Its only $1!!! Why don't they have this in Singapore?!?!?!

Look at the boxes of lao sha bao we're bringing back. LOL.

And it was time to fly home.

The harmless looking bowl of ramen at the airport which was so spicy that i teared.

"Hi love/mom/dad, we're coming home!!"

BYE HK! This is how spastic i look all the way back. But it beats draping my cardigan over my head, which was what i did throughout the flight to HK. The guy across the aisle must think i'm nuts.
