An Eventful Day

May 19, 2011 15:42

At the last minute, I decided to give JH a lift to his meeting at MFA (he had planned to go on his own earlier, and meet up with his sister for lunch, but he had gotten the address wrong, so I decided to drop him instead).

On the way there, we met with a massive jam on Lornie Road. E slept on the way there, and woke up a few seconds after I had parked at our destination.

Since we were in the vicinity of Dempsey Hill, I decided to drop by Go-Go-Bambini for a visit, since I had heard about it, but had not had the opportunity to visit before.  Adults enter for free, and it is free for bubs under a year.  It is basically an indoor playground with an attached cafe.  Socks required for both adult and baby.  Because of the rush, I had forgotten to pop our socks into the bag, so I had to buy 2 pairs at $3 each.Jr was not interested in playing when we stepped in, so we went to the cafe for lunch.  I had packed his porridge, and bought myself a hot chocolate ($5) and a penne bolognaise ($16.9!!)

Jr had his beef porridge, but fussed lots while eating it.  He kept wanting me to carry him. After lunch, I let him try again, and after sticking to me for a while, he decided to play his favourite game - toss the ball and follow it.  He managed to climb up and down a 'bridge' (new) and some steps (nothing new here).  When he wanted to play outside of the play area, I decided that it was time to leave.

We went over to Jones the Grocer for a bit, where I bought myself a cold drink for the drive.

Since it was still early, I hoped that E would sleep on the way to class, so that he would be in a good mood during.  Seeing that I had some time, I decided to go on a little detour up Old Thomson Road.  He then decided to be very upset.  I stopped at Upper Peirce Reservoir Park to calm him down and feed him some banana.

We sat down in the park, and he wasn't paying much attention to me, but when he went for yet another bite of banana, he caught sight of me in his periheral vision and did a double take because I was wearing dark driving glasses.  :P  We then had some fun putting the glasses on and off.

We went back to the car where I nursed him for a while before driving off again.  However, shortly after we got back into the car he got all upset again.  So I stopped at the junction of Thomson/Yio Chu Kang/Casurina, at the public carpark beside the church.  He had fun watching the traffic and people watching.  Again, he fussed majorly when I tried to put him back in the carseat, so I nursed him some more and played with him.  When he was finally willing to sit in the seat, his class was already half over, so I decided to go to Mum's to pick up my phone which I left the night before.  He played happily there till about 3:30pm, when I decided that we really should be off to his other grandparents'.

He fussed for a bit, but fell asleep rather quickly, so I stopped by SPC to fill the tank. We waited in the carpark till he woke up, because the last time I tried to carry him up asleep, he was woken up by the very noisy lift.

He played with toys while there, since it was raining heavily so Yeye could not bring him down for a walk.  After dinner, which he wallopped, he was rather fussy, so after our baths, I brought him home.

Once home, we got ready for bed by reading a few books.  However, he refused to sleep, so after trying for quite a while, I gave up and let him play.  He fiddled with the things on my bedside table for quite a while before deciding they belonged on the floor.  Which was my cue for trying again.  Eventually, we drifted both off.  I woke up and packed up for the next day only after JH got back from work.
