11+ Months!

Dear E,

In 18 days time (!), you will be 1!!!

Time really flies.  It seemed like just yesterday that I was big and heavy and looking forward to your arrival.  And now you're soon to officially exit infant-hood and enter toddler-hood!

It wasn't so long ago that you were so tiny, I could hold all of you in one arm, and I was so afraid that I would 'break' you, now, I can barely carry you with one arm, sometimes it's difficult even with both arms, especially when you squirm and push.

It wasn't so long ago that you could only lie in the spot I put you down in, now, I can barely change your diapers because you refuses to stay on your back / in one spot.

It wasn't so long ago that you would happily sit in your high-chair and 'read' quietly, now you're climbing out and throwing everything within your reach onto the floor.

It wasn't so long ago that you couldn't figure out how to crawl, now you're creeping on all fours like a pro and walking with assistance too.

Time really flies, and while I miss your newborn days, I look forward to you growing up too!

Some things that you started doing since I last blogged:
  • clapping
  • using your pincer grip more frequently
  • self feeding of cheerios / puffs by picking up and putting in your mouth (but if you could, you would still prefer to eaat them off the table
  • pushing food into your mouth if it isn't fully in
  • throwing things down the stairs and watching how they fall
  • waving goodbye
  • throwing balls into the kitchen so that you have an excuse to go in
  • crawling through a short tunnel (three times today, after refusing to last lesson) @ Gymnaedemics
  • Something funny - you plucked a leaf off one of Grandma's plants and was biting / about to bite it when I said "Hey! Don't do that!" You jumped a little, and immediately threw the incriminating evidence away.
  • Somthing else funny, a little conversation you had with you Twa Kim:
    • TK: eh
    • You: *stare*
    • TK: eh
    • You: *stare*
    • TK: eh
    • You: bbbtthh
    • (You, my dear, have great comic timing)
  • pushing toys with wheels (and using one as a battering ram against Grandma's sliding door.
  • screaming at the top of your lungs
